The World Health Organization (WHO) said Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are 100% safe for pregnant women
Dr Rana Al-Hajjah, Director of Programme Management at WHO, said studies have shown that Pfizer and Moderna are safe vaccines for pregnant women and are 100% safe for pregnant women.
“Pregnant women are among the most vulnerable groups to Coronavirus, and pregnancies can end prematurely if they are infected with the virus,” she said at a press conference held by the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office on Thursday via video conferencing.
She pointed out that the proportion of those who picked up the infection from the vaccinated is very low, as clinical studies after or before the licensing of vaccines have shown that the effectiveness of vaccines is between 70 and 80%, but all licensed vaccines are 100% safe, and we have some data that shows that 5% of vaccine recipients get infected with coronavirus, but mortality rates are rare, and this highlights the importance of receiving the vaccine.
She also noted that mRNA technology will give us an opportunity to discover drugs and vaccines for other diseases, and it is considered a promising technology and has the ability to treat many diseases.
“Delta’s mutation is the most widespread and infection-capable,” she said, stressing the effectiveness of vaccines against these mutations and that there is no evidence yet of a Delta Plus mutation, and what was recorded was a minor change in India that is not considered to be a new strain.

وأوضحت الدكتورة رنا الحجة مدير إدارة البرامج بمنظمة الصحة العالمية إن الدراسات أثبتت أن لقاحي فايزر وموديرنا من اللقاحات الآمنة بالنسبة للسيدات الحوامل، وهو آمن بنسبة 100% للمرآة الحامل.
وأضافت – خلال مؤتمر صحفي عقده المكتب الإقليمي لشرق المتوسط بالمنظمة اليوم الخميس عبر تقنية الفيديو كونفرانس – أن “النساء الحوامل هن من أكثر الفئات المعرضة للإصابة بفيروس كورونا، ويمكن انتهاء الحمل قبل وقته في حالة إصابتهن بالفيروس”.
وأشارت إلى أن نسبة الذين التقطوا العدوى من الملقحين قليلة جدًا، حيث إن الدراسات السريرية بعد أو قبل ترخيص اللقاحات أظهرت أن نسبة فعالية اللقاحات ما بين 70 إلى 80%، لكن جميع اللقاحات المرخصة آمنة بنسبة 100%، ولدينا بعض البيانات نحو 5% تقريبا من الملقحين يحدث لهم الإصابة بفيروس كورونا، لكن نسب الوفيات نادرة، وهذا يبرز أهمية تلقي اللقاح.
كما أشارت إلى أن تقنية الـmRNA ستمنحنا فرصة لاكتشاف أدوية ولقاحات لأمراض أخرى وهى تعتبر تقنية واعدة ولها قدرة على علاج الكثير من الأمراض.
وأضافت الحجة: “أن متحور دلتا هو الأكثر انتشارًا وقدرة على الإصابات”، مؤكدة فاعلية اللقاحات ضد هذه المتحورات ما زالت قائمة وأنه لا دليل حتى الآن عن وجود متحور “دلتا بلس” وكلما سجل هو تغير بسيط بالهند لا يرتقي للإعلان عن كونه متحورا جديدا.
