Does breastfeeding transmit Coronavirus to children?

A new study conducted by the Spanish government research authority confirmed that the milk of mothers infected with the Corona virus “Covid-19” does not contain traces of the virus, and recommended breastfeeding even in the event of infection.
The study, conducted as part of an initiative of the Supreme Council for Scientific Research and a university hospital in Valencia called ‘Milk Corona’, showed that none of the breast milk samples analysed contained the traces of coronavirus RNA, researcher Maria Carmen Collado, who is in charge of the project explained, according to Al-Hurra.
She explained that breast milk contains antibodies produced by the mother’s body “indicating that breast milk is an antibody-carrier tool”.
Cecilia Martinez-Costa from the Department of Pediatrics at the Hospital Clinico de Valencia stressed that the results of the study confirm “the importance of recommending systematic breastfeeding in all cases where the mother has few or no symptoms at all.”
A statement on the study added that it also analyzed the presence of antibodies in the breast milk of 75 women who received the Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines, and showed that all samples contain antibodies at levels that vary according to the vaccine.
The study also showed that the milk of women who received one dose of the vaccine after infection with the virus, and the milk of women who received two vaccine doses without contracting Covid-19, contains the same level of antibodies.
أكّدت دراسة جديدة أجرتها هيئة الأبحاث الإسبانية الحكومية أنّ حليب الأمهات المصابات بفيروس كورونا “كوفيد-19” لا يحتوي على آثار للفيروس، وأوصت بالرضاعة الطبيعية حتى في حال الإصابة.
وبيّنت الدراسة التي أجريت ضمن مبادرة من المجلس الأعلى للبحث العلمي وأحد المستشفيات الجامعية في فالنسيا وأُطلق عليها عنوان “ميلك كورونا”، أن أياً من عينات حليب الثدي التي أخضعت للتحليل لم تحتوِ على آثار الحمض النووي الريبي لفيروس كورونا، على ما أوضحت الباحثة ماريا كارمن كولادو المسؤولة عن المشروع، وفقا لموقع “الحرة”.
لكنّها أوضحت أنها تحتوي على الأجسام المضادة التي أفرزها جسم الأم “مما يشير إلى أن حليب الثدي هو أداة ناقلة للأجسام المضادة”.
وشددت سيسيليا مارتينيز كوستا من قسم طب الأطفال في مستشفى “كلينيكو دي فالنسيا” على أن نتائج الدراسة تؤكد “أهمية التوصية بالرضاعة الطبيعية بشكل منهجي في كل الحالات التي تكون لدى الأم عوارض قليلة أو معدومة كلياً”.
وأضاف بيان عن الدراسة أنها حللت أيضاً وجود أجسام مضادة في حليب الثدي لدى 75 امرأة تلقين لقاحات فايزر وموديرنا واسترازينيكا، وأظهرت أن كل العينات تحتوي على أجسام مضادة بمستويات تتفاوت تبعاً للقاح.
كذلك أظهرت الدراسة أن حليب النساء اللواتي تلقين جرعة لقاح واحدة بعد الإصابة بالفيروس وحليب النساء اللواتي تلقين جرعتي لقاح من دون أن يصبن بكوفيد يحتوي على المستوى نفسه من الأجسام المضادة.
