EU allows access to its territory provided vaccination

EU member states agreed Wednesday to allow access to EU territory for travellers from other countries who have been vaccinated with european-licensed anti-Coronavirus vaccines.
The ambassadors of the 27 countries endorsed this recommendation, which was put forward by the European Commission, although it is not binding.
German radio reported that this comes as the summer tourist season approaches, explaining that the planned changes, announced by the European Commission, should be related to the bloc’s “digital green card” project, which is expected to be ready by late June for EU citizens.
Member states also accept vaccination certificates from a third country, if the vaccine is approved in the bloc.
Approved vaccines
The vaccines approved to enter the territory of the EU are: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.
In a related context, the representatives of the Member States also agreed to reduce the infection rate standard, which is taken into account in the development of this regulation.
This rate has been increased from 25 to 75 cases (out of every 100,000 people in the past 14 days)
At the same time, Member States agreed to establish a coordinated emergency mechanism to quickly suspend the entry of travellers from other countries in the event of a deteriorating health situation due to the emergence of Coronavirus strains.
The EU closed its external borders in March 2020 for “unnecessary” travel and as of June of the same year imposed a limited regulation that is regularly reviewed, for foreign countries whose vaccinated and unvaccinated populations can enter the EU.

اتفقت الدول الأعضاء في الاتحاد الأوروبي، اليوم الأربعاء، على السماح بالدخول إلى أراضي الاتحاد للمسافرين من دول أخرى الذين تلقوا التطعيم بلقاحات مضادة لكورونا مرخصة على المستوى الأوروبي.
وصادق سفراء الدول الـ27 على هذه التوصية التي طرحتها المفوضية الأوروبية رغم أنها ليست ملزمة.
وذكرت الإذاعة الألمانية أن ذلك يأتي مع اقتراب الموسم السياحي الصيفي، موضحة أن التغييرات المقررة، التي أعلنتها المفوضية الأوروبية، يتعين أن تكون لها صلة بمشروع “البطاقة الخضراء الرقمية” الخاصة بالتكتل، التي من المتوقع أن تكون جاهزة بحلول أواخر يونيو المقبل لمواطني الاتحاد الأوروبي.
وتقبل الدول الأعضاء أيضاً شهادات تطعيم من دولة ثالثة، إذا تم الموافقة على اللقاح في التكتل.
اللقاحات المعتمدة
واللقاحات المعتمدة لدخول أراضي الاتحاد هي : “بيونتيك وفايزر” و”موديرنا” و”استرازينيكا” وجونسون آند جونسون”.
وفي سياق متصل، وافق ممثلو الدول الأعضاء أيضاً على تخفيف معيار معدل العدوى الذي يؤخذ في الاعتبار لوضع هذه اللائحة.
وتمّ رفع هذا المعدل من 25 إلى 75 إصابة (من أصل كل 100 ألف نسمة في الأيام الـ14 الماضية).
وفي نفس الوقت، توافقت الدول الأعضاء على وضع آلية طوارئ منسقة لتعليق سريعاً دخول مسافرين من دول أخرى في حال تدهور الوضع الصحي فيها بسبب ظهور نسخ متحوّرة من فيروس كورونا.
وكان الاتحاد الأوروبي قد أغلق حدوده الخارجية في مارس 2020 للسفر “غير الضروري” وفرض اعتباراً من يونيو من نفس العام لائحة محدودة تتمّ مراجعتها بشكل منتظم، للدول الخارجية التي يمكن لسكانها الملقحين وغير الملقحين الدخول إلى الاتحاد.
