Rich Indians flee Coronavirus hell

After the increased frequency of covid-19 infections in India, a number of wealthy Indians have fled the country on their own private jets as reports of shortages of medicines and hospital beds to treat patients spread.
As the country’s epidemic situation worsens, the wealthy have chosen to flee for fear of infections as Club One Air’s private jet CEO Rajan Mehra revealed that Indian business leaders and even middle-class people are seeking to escape the country after the pandemic has spread.
The death toll in India, with more than 400,000 new cases of Coronavirus in the world’s highest daily toll and 2,812 deaths, has risen to a total of 18.7 million since the pandemic began.
Airline tickets fares have risen more than 10 times higher, according to Mehra estimatings, and private jet operators charge for a return flight even if the plane is empty, saying, “This shows how people try to escape at all costs”.
With India registering more than 300,000 infections per day, this has severely strained the health system, severe hospital beds shortages, oxygen supplies and treatment drugs.
U.S. President Joe Biden announced that he would impose new travel restrictions on India starting Tuesday, in light of the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic there, preventing most non-U.S. nationals from entering the United States.

وفي ظل تردي الوضع الوبائي في البلاد، اختار الأثرياء الفرار منها خوفا من الإصابةـ حيث كشف الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة كلوب وان إير للطائرات الخاصة راجان ميهرا، إن أباطرة الأعمال الهنود وغيرهم حتى من الطبقة المتوسطة، يسعوون للهروب من البلاد بعد انتشار الجائحة.وفقا لموقع فوربس.
وارتفعت حصيلة الإصابات في الهند حيث سجلت أكثر من 400 ألف إصابة جديدة بفيروس كورونا في أعلى حصيلة يومية على مستوى العالم و2812 وفاة، بإجمالي 18.7 مليون إصابة منذ بدء الجائحة.
وارتفعت أسعار تذاكر الطيران بأكثر من 10 أضعاف، بحسب تقديرات ميهرا، كما يتقاضى مشغلو الطائرات الخاصة رسومًا مقابل رحلة العودة حتى اذا كانت الطائرة فارغة، قائلاً:«هذا يظهر كيف يحاول الناس الهروب بأي ثمن».
ومع تسجيل الهند أكثر من 300 ألف إصابة يوميا، تسبب ذلك في إجهاد شديد للنظام الصحي، ونقص حاد في الأسرّة، وإمدادات الأوكسجين، وأدوية العلاج.
وفي ذات السياق أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي جو بايدن انه سيفرض قيوداً جديدة على السفر تتعلق بالهند بدءاً من يوم الثلاثاء، في ضوء تفشي جائحة كوفيد-19 هناك، وهو ما يمنع معظم القادمين من جنسيات غير أمريكية من دخول الولايات المتحدة.
