وبحسب تغريدة عبر تويتر لسنودن، فإن صورة ذاتية للمتعاقد السابق في وكالة الأمن القومي الأمريكية، والذي يبلغ من العمر (37 عامًا)، صنعت من صفحات قرار محكمة الاستئناف الأمريكية، الذي قضى بأن برنامج المراقبة الجماعية الذي كشف عنه سنودن قد انتهك القانون الأمريكي.
وأكد سنودن أن الصورة قد بيعت مقابل ما قيمته حوالي 5.5 مليون دولار من العملة المشفرة «إيثيريوم».
