Saudi Arabia: Proactive measures to increase Umrah performers in Ramadan

Doha: The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced the start of preparations for the reception phase of Umrah performers during the holy month of Ramadan.

Deputy Minister of Hajj Abdel Fattah Mashat told local media on Saturday that all workers at Makkan Sanctuary have been vaccinated against the new Corona virus, pointing to proactive measures that will be implemented that will increase the number of Umrah performers.

The Saudi official stressed that the competent bodies will oversee the strict implementation of health requirements in the Two Holy Sanctuaries.

Last week, the Saudi Ministry of Municipal Affairs stipulated that all workers in hajj, umrah and shops in The Cities of Mecca and Media should be vaccinated against the coronavirus, starting at the beginning of Ramadan this year, in order to protect public health.

Concerned authorities in Saudi Arabia have already announced that it is mandatory to vaccinate workers in several areas against MERS-CoV or to conduct a weekly PCR test.

Areas where workers are required to be vaccinated include restaurants, food shops, men’s barber shops, women’s beauty salons, gyms and sports centres, all those working in various public transport facilities, and those working in tourist accommodation facilities.

For its part, the Saudi Ministry of Health has expanded the process of vaccination, and has launched more vaccine centers to cover all regions of Saudi Arabia, in order to continue its efforts to maintain the health and safety of citizens and residents, and to reduce the spread of the virus.

The ministry called on everyone to register through the “sehhaty” application to get vaccination, reiterating that the vaccine is free.

الدوحة: أعلنت وزارة الحج والعمرة السعودية عن بدء الاستعداد لمرحلة استقبال المعتمرين في شهر رمضان المبارك.

وكشف نائب وزير الحج  عبد الفتاح مشاط، في تصريحات لوسائل إعلام محلية السبت، عن أنه تم تطعيم جميع العاملين في الحرم المكي ضد فيروس كورونا المستجد، مشيرا إلى إجراءات استباقية سيتم العمل بها من شأنها زيادة عدد المعتمرين.

وشدد المسؤول السعودي على أن الهيئات المختصة ستشرف على تطبيق الاشتراطات الصحية بصرامة في الحرمين الشريفين.

وكانت وزارة الشؤون البلدية السعودية، قد اشترطت، الأسبوع الماضي، التحصين بلقاح كورونا على العاملين في أنشطة الحج والعمرة والمحلات التجارية في مدينتي مكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة، بدءاً من مطلع شهر رمضان للعام الجاري، وذلك حمايةً للصحة العامة.

وأعلنت الجهات المعنية في السعودية مسبقاً عن إلزامية تحصين العاملين في عدة مجالات ضد فيروس كورونا أو إجراء فحص PCR بشكل أسبوعي.

وتشمل المجالات التي يلزم فيها بتحصين العمال: المطاعم ومحلات بيع الأغذية، وصالونات الحلاقة الرجالية، وصالونات التجميل النسائية، والصالات والمراكز الرياضية، وجميع العاملين في وسائل النقل العام المختلفة، والعاملين في منشآت الإيواء السياحي.

بدورها، وسعت وزارة الصحة السعودية عملية التطعيم بلقاح كورونا، ودشنت المزيد من مراكز اللقاحات لتشمل مناطق السعودية كافة، وذلك تواصلاً لجهودها في الحفاظ على صحة وسلامة المواطنين والمقيمين، والحد من انتشار الفيروس.

وأهابت الوزارة بالجميع التسجيل عبر تطبيق “صحتي” للحصول على التطعيم، مجددةً التذكير بمجانية اللقاح.
