Rare Stone, 500 Times More Expensive Than Gold Found

Sydney: British siblings Isaac and Sofia Andreu found a rare Opal stone, a shimmering semi-transparent gemstone, during their first metal detecting trip in Queensland, Australia.

The stone found by the two siblings is one of the brightest gems that worth 700,000 Sterling Pounds.

“It includes all the colors of the rainbow and every color imaginable,” Sofia said.

Experts point out that 90% of opals are in Australia’s outback, and that their commercial value is 500 times more than gold.
