Rapid outbreak of bird flu in India

New Delhi: Bird flu is spreading rapidly across India, with seven states confirming cases, while states await test results, while measures have been put in place to contain the virus, officials say. Uttar Pradesh was the latest state to record cases of the virus, with a zoo in Kanpur city closed following the deaths of four birds and two parrots. Kanor R.P. Mishra, chief veterinary officer in the Kanor region, said the test results proved positive for the animals.
