Saudi Arabia: Circumambulation in Grand Mosque still limited to Umrah

Doha: A Saudi newspaper denied news circulating that it was permitted to perform the circumambulation for the non-performing pilgrims.
Informed sources confirmed to the Saudi newspaper “Okaz” on Saturday denied what has been circulated recently about permitting the performance of circumambulation around the Grand Mosque for non-pilgrims.
The sources indicated that “the permission decision is old and was taken with the onset of the emerging coronavirus pandemic,” noting that there is no need to be deceived by what is circulated through social media.
It is noteworthy that the social networking sites have reported news that they have been allowed to perform the circumambulation for the non-performing pilgrims, as of Saturday dawn.
In early March, Saudi Arabia temporarily suspended the performance of Umrah rituals as part of the unprecedented precautionary measures it took to limit the spread of the pandemic.
On the first of November 2020, it began to allow the performance of Umrah, visitation and prayers for citizens and residents from inside and outside KSA 100 %, taking into account the precautionary measures.

الدوحة: نفت صحيفة سعودية اخباراً متداولة تفيد بالسماح بفتح المطاف للطائفين من غير المعتمرين، وأكدت مصادر مطلعة لصحيفة “عكاظ” السعودية السبت، عدم صحة ما تم تداوله مؤخرا حول السماح بأداء الطواف حول المسجد الحرام لغير المعتمرين.
وبينت المصادر أن “قرار السماح قديم واتخذ مع بداية جائحة فيروس كورونا المستجد”، مشيرة إلى عدم الانسياق وراء ما يتم تناقله عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي.
يذكر أن مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي قد تناقلت خبرا يفيد بالسماح بفتح المطاف للطائفين من غير المعتمرين اعتبارا من فجر أمس السبت.
وعلقت السعودية مؤقتا في مطلع مارس الماضي أداء مناسك العمرة في إطار إجراءات احترازية غير مسبوقة اتّخذتها للحدّ من تفشّي الجائحة.
وفي الأول من نوفمبر 2020، بدأت السماح بأداء العمرة والزيارة والصلوات للمواطنين والمقيمين من داخل المملكة ومن خارجها، بنسبة 100 بالمئة مع مراعاة الإجراءات الاحترازية.
