Indian doctor buys “Aladdin’s lamp” for 41 thousand dollars after a thrilling fraud

Doha: the state of Uttar Pradesh, one of the Indian provinces, witnessed an exciting case of fraud. An Indian doctor bought what was said to be the “Aladdin Magic Lamp”, for an huge amount of money, after two men implemented a “magic” trick that made him believe it was the real lamp.

The Indian authorities have arrested two men because of the fraud against the doctor who bought from them the legendary lamp adapted from the stories of “One Thousand and One Nights”, while the police are pursuing another suspect, according to Russia Today website, reporting on Indian media.

Details of the incident are that the two men succeeded in deceiving the doctor and convincing him that the lamp is real and that it helps summoning souls, and it will also bring him wealth, health and good fortune, which prompted him to buy it for a huge amount, as he paid more than 41 thousand dollars for the lamp, before he discovered the trick and informed the authorities.

Local media reported that the fraudsters requested more than $ 200,000 for the lamp, with the subsequent approval of a down payment of $ 41,600.

For his part, the doctor said: “The two men convinced me that this lamp contains a genie and that it is indeed Aladdin’s lamp, during one of my visits to treat their sick mother,” adding that the character of Aladdin appeared with them on one of the visits, only to discover later that the character was one of the fraudsters wearing the costume of the folkloric character.

الدوحة: شهدت ولاية أوتار براديش إحدى المقاطعات الهندية حالة مثيرة للغش والنصب، حيث اشترى طبيب هندي ما قيل إنه “مصباح علاء الدين السحري”، بمبلغ خيالي، بعد أن قام رجلان بتنفيذ خدعة “سحرية” جعلته يصدق أنه المصباح الحقيقي.

السلطات الهندية اعتقلت رجلين بسبب عملية النصب بحق الطبيب الذي اشترى منهما المصباح الأسطوري المقتبس من روايات ألف ليلة وليلة، فيما تلاحق الشرطة مشتبها به آخر وفقا مانقله موقع روسيا اليوم عن وسائل إعلام هندية.

وفي التفاصيل فقد نجح الرجلان بخداع الطبيب وإقناعه بأن المصباح حقيقي ويساعد على استحضار الأرواح ، كما أنه سيجلب له الغنى والصحة والحظ الجيد، وهو ما دفعه لشرائه بمبلغ ضخم، حيث دفع أكثر من 41 ألف دولار للحصول على المصباح ، قبل أن يكتشف الخدعة ويبلغ السلطات.

كما ذكرت وسائل الإعلام المحلية طلب المحتالان أكثر من 200 ألف دولار للمصباح، مع الموافقة فيما بعد على دفعة أولى قدرها 41600 دولار. 

من جهته قال الطبيب: “أقنعني الرجلان بأن هذا المصباح به جني وأنه بالفعل مصباح علاء الدين، خلال إحدى زياراتي لعلاج أمهما المريضة”، مضيفا أن شخصية علاء الدين ظهرت معهما في إحدى الزيارات، ليكتشف لاحقا أن الشخصية كانت أحد المحتالين مرتديا زي الشخصية الفلكلورية.

جدير بالذكر أن السلطات قالت إن الرجلين متهمان بخداع عدد آخر من العائلات الهندية في عمليات نصب مختلفة.
