Qatar and Iran Discuss Enhancing Cooperation in Labor Sector

Tehran: The Qatari-Iranian Joint Committee in the labor field held its 5th meeting on Monday in Tehran, under the chairmanship of HE Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri and HE the Iranian Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Solt Mortazavi.
The joint committee discussed bilateral cooperation in labor affairs, which include the adoption of occupational standards, labor inspection in establishments, ways to enhance tools establishing occupational health and safety towards achieving an exemplary work environment, and vocational training, among other items on the agenda.
The two ministers expressed their pride in the relations between the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Iran which were further developed, thanks to the wisdom of the two countries’ leaderships.
During the meeting, HE Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri emphasized his dedication towards invigorating and bolstering the collaborative ties between the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Iran, with a particular focus on the Labor sector, indicating that the activation of joint technical committees will enable them to handle technical issues and surmount any challenges to foster effective cooperation.
His Excellency further mentioned that following a series of legislative changes to Labor laws and regulations over the past years, the State of Qatar has emerged as a leader in Labor market reforms. Dr. Al Marri added that the State of Qatar is eager to share its experience with all countries in order for them to benefit from it.
The committee meeting was then followed by the signing of the minutes of the bilateral meeting in regards to mutual cooperation with the aim of raising capacities, exchanging experiences, developing a consultation mechanism between the two countries, exchanging experiences in the field of vocational and technical training and training centers, as well as drafting of a joint action plan for cooperation over the next five years.
The State of Qatar’s delegation included officials from the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in addition to the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

طهران: عقدت اللجنة القطرية الإيرانية المشتركة في مجال العمل، اليوم، اجتماعها الخامس بالعاصمة الإيرانية طهران، برئاسة سعادة الدكتور علي بن صميخ المري وزير العمل، وسعادة السيد صولت مرتضوي وزير التعاون والعمل والرخاء الاجتماعي في الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية.
وناقشت اللجنة أوجه التعاون المشترك وتبادل الخبرات في مجال العمل، ومنها اعتماد المعايير المهنية وتفتيش العمل داخل المنشآت، وسبل تعزيز أدوات الصحة والسلامة المهنية وصولا إلى بيئة عمل نموذجية، والتدريب المهني وغيرها من الموضوعات المدرجة على جدول الأعمال.
وعبر الوزيران، خلال اجتماع اللجنة، عن اعتزازهما بمستوى العلاقات التي تجمع دولة قطر والجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية، والتي ترسخت بحكمة قيادتي البلدين.
وأكد سعادة الدكتور علي بن صميخ المري، أن انعقاد اللجنة المشتركة يأتي في إطار مناقشة سبل فتح آفاق جديدة للتعاون، استجابة لتوجيهات قيادتي البلدين، مشيرا إلى أن زيارته إلى طهران تأتي في سياق التعاون المثمر بين وزارتي العمل في البلدين وفقا للاتفاقية الموقعة بينهما في مجال العمل.
وأوضح سعادته، خلال الاجتماع، ضرورة تفعيل وتعزيز التعاون المشترك بين دولة قطر والجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية، لا سيما في مجالات قطاع العمل، مشيرا إلى أن تفعيل عمل اللجان الفنية المشتركة سيسهم في تذليل كافة العقبات في سبيل تعزيز العمل المشترك خلال الفترة المقبلة.
ولفت سعادته إلى أن دولة قطر أصبحت نموذجا يحتذى على مستوى التشريعات المنظمة لقطاع العمل، بعد سلسلة من التحديثات خلال السنوات الماضية، مشيرا إلى استعداد دولة قطر لتبادل تجربتها مع كافة الدول للاستفادة منها.
وعقب اجتماع اللجنة، تم توقيع محضر الاجتماع بين الطرفين، بهدف رفع القدرات وتبادل الخبرات وتطوير آلية التشاور بين البلدين، والتعاون في مجال التدريب المهني والتقني ومراكز التدريب، وإعداد مسودة لخطة عمل مشتركة للتعاون على مدى خمسة أعوام المقبلة.
ضم وفد دولة قطر مسؤولين من وزارة العمل ووزارة الداخلية ووزارة التجارة والصناعة بالإضافة إلى ممثلين عن غرفة قطر.
