European Migration trips increased by 63 percent in seven months

Warsaw: European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) recorded a 63 percent increase in the number of illegal immigration trips to the European Union, from the beginning of this year until last July, pointing out that the number reached 34,570 trips.
The agency stated, that the number of illegal entries to European areas reached 14,866 last July, explaining that this number represents about three times what it was in July 2021 via the Balkan route, which is the “most active” route.
She also pointed out that the number of migrants who took the Mediterranean, during the first seven months of this year, reached 42,500 illegal immigrants, an increase of nearly 44 percent over the numbers recorded in the same period in 2021, while the Eastern Mediterranean route recorded 22,601 migrants crossed, which is “more than double” compared to last year.
In a previous report, Frontex revealed that the number of illegal entry operations to the European Union increased by 82 percent between last January and May, to reach 86,420 compared to the same period last year.

وارسو: سجلت الوكالة الأوروبية لمراقبة الحدود /فرونتكس/ ارتفاعا بنسبة 63 بالمئة في عدد رحلات الهجرة غير الشرعية باتجاه دول الاتحاد الأوربي، منذ بداية العام الجاري وحتى يوليو الماضي، لافتة إلى أن عددها بلغ 34 ألفا و570 رحلة.
وذكرت الوكالة، في بيان، أن عدد عمليات الدخول غير الشرعي للفضاء الأوروبي وصل خلال شهر يوليو الماضي إلى 14 ألفا و866 عملية، موضحة أن هذا العدد يمثل حوالي ثلاثة أضعاف ما كان عليه الحال في يوليو 2021 عبر طريق البلقان وهو الطريق “الأكثر نشاطا”.
كما لفتت إلى أن عدد المهاجرين الذين سلكوا البحر المتوسط، خلال الأشهر السبعة الأولى من العام الجاري، وصل إلى 42 ألفا و500 مهاجر غير شرعي، بزيادة ناهزت 44 بالمئة عن الأعداد التي تم تسجيلها في الفترة ذاتها من عام 2021، فيما سجل طريق الحوض الشرقي للمتوسط عبور 22 ألفا و601 مهاجر، وهو ما يمثل “أكثر من الضعف” مقارنة بالعام الماضي.
وكانت /فرونتكس/ قد كشفت، في تقرير سابق، أن عدد عمليات الدخول غير الشرعي إلى الاتحاد الأوروبي ارتفع بنسبة 82 بالمائة بين يناير ومايو الماضيين، ليبلغ 86 ألفا و420 عملية مقارنة بالفترة نفسها من العام الماضي.
