Saudi Crown Prince Announces Designs of The Line in NEOM

Jeddah: HH Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz announced on Monday the designs for The Line city in NEOM.
The designs of the new city reflect how urban communities will be in the future in an environment free from roads, cars and emissions, and preserve 95 percent of NEOM’s land. The city will also run on 100 percent renewable energy.
The Line, which will accommodate nine million residents, will be built on a footprint of 34 square kilometer, 500 meters above sea level with a width of 200 meters and a length of 170 kilometers.
The new designs reveal that residents will access all facilities within five minutes’ time, and a high speed rail will connect the whole city within 20 minutes.
The designs would clarify the internal structure of the multi-layered city and address the problems of traditional flat horizontal cities, achieving harmony between urban development and preservation of nature, the crown prince said.
“We cannot ignore the livability and environmental crises facing our world’s cities, and NEOM is at the forefront of delivering new and imaginative solutions to address these issues,” he said, adding that NEOM remains one of the most important projects of Saudi Vision 2030, The city’s design will be completely digitized according to the most advanced structure and manufacturing technologies.

جدة: أعلن سمو الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز ولي العهد السعودي رئيس مجلس إدارة /نيوم/، عن تصاميم مدينة /ذا لاين/.
وتأتي تصاميم مدينة /ذا لاين/، انعكاسا لما ستكون عليه المجتمعات الحضرية مستقبلا في بيئة خالية من الشوارع والسيارات والانبعاثات، وتسهم في المحافظة على 95 بالمئة من أراضي /نيوم/ للطبيعة، وتعتمد على الطاقة المتجددة بنسبة 100 بالمئة.
ويبلغ عرض مدينة /ذا لاين/ 200 متر فقط على امتداد 170 كيلومترا، وارتفاع يبلغ 500 متر فوق سطح البحر، وستبنى على مساحة لا تتجاوز 34 كيلومترا مربعا، وستتسع لنحو 9 ملايين نسمة.
وتتيح /ذا لاين/ لجميع السكان إمكانية الوصول إلى جميع المرافق والخدمات في غضون 5 دقائق، إضافة إلى وجود قطار فائق السرعة يصل بين طرفي المدينة خلال 20 دقيقة.
وبهذه المناسبة، قال سمو الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز: “هذه التصاميم الاستثنائية توضح الهيكل الداخلي للمدينة متعددة الطبقات وتعالج إشكاليات المدن الأفقية التقليدية المنبسطة، محققة بذلك التناغم التام بين التنمية الحضرية والحفاظ على الطبيعة بكل مواردها”، مضيفا “لا يمكننا تجاهل أزمة البيئة وكذلك أزمة طريقة الحياة اللتين تواجهان مدن العالم”.
وتابع “نسعى في /نيوم/ أن نكون في طليعة من يقدمون حلولا جديدة ومبتكرة”، مشيرا إلى أن مشروع /نيوم/ أحد المشاريع المهمة في رؤية المملكة 2030.
جدير بالذكر أن /نيوم/ ستعمل على تصميم المدينة بأكملها رقميا، وكذلك ستستخدم أحدث تقنيات البناء وعمليات التصنيع.
