WHO Warns of Real Danger Facing the World Due to Coronavirus

Geneva: Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stressed that humanity is now facing a real danger due to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), despite the success of the vaccinations.
“We have made great progress in developing vaccines in record time. But the world is now in real danger. Many of our previous successes are being destroyed,” Ghebreyesus said.
Director-General of the World Health Organization explained that the increase in the number of cases is an indication that people stop complying with the preventive measures imposed, and the health systems operate inconsistently and the vaccination rate is uneven.
According to WHO estimates, there is still a disparity in access to vaccines against the virus in the world, as in poor countries far fewer are vaccinated than in the rich countries that produce vaccines and begin planning for revaccination.

جنيف: أكد السيد تيدروس غيبريسوس المدير العام لمنظمة الصحة العالمية، أن البشرية تواجه الآن خطرا حقيقيا بسبب انتشار عدوى فيروس كورونا /كوفيد – 19/، على الرغم من نجاح عمليات التطعيم.
وقال غيبريسوس، في تصريح نشره الموقع الإلكتروني للمنظمة، “لقد أحرزنا تقدما كبيرا في تطوير اللقاحات في وقت قياسي. ولكن العالم الآن في خطر حقيقي.. العديد من نجاحاتنا السابقة يجري تدميرها”.
وأوضح رئيس منظمة الصحة العالمية، أن الزيادة في عدد حالات الإصابة بمرض /كوفيد – 19/ الناتج عن تفشي فيروس كورونا، هي مؤشر على أن “الناس يتوقفون عن الامتثال للقيود الوقائية المفروضة، وأن النظم الصحية تعمل بشكل غير متسق، ومعدل التطعيم غير متساو”.
وبحسب تقديرات المنظمة، لا يزال هناك تفاوت في الحصول على اللقاحات ضد فيروس كورونا في العالم، حيث يتم في البلدان الفقيرة تطعيم عدد أقل بكثير مما عليه الحال في البلدان الغنية التي تنتج اللقاحات وبدأت تخطط لإعادة التطعيم.
