Concerned Bodies Underline Need to Abide by Camping Rules

Doha: Participants in a panel discussion organized by the Ministry of Interior’s General Directorate of Traffic stressed the need for those wishing to camp to abide by the rules and conditions for camping, and to fully adhere to security and safety procedures.

The panel discussion, which was attended by officials and officers from the General Directorate of Traffic, representatives of camping authorities and a number of school students, comes within the framework of the General Directorate of Traffic’s awareness plan aimed at reducing the number of violations and traffic accidents during the winter camping season (2021-2022).

Lieutenant-Colonel Ali Al Baridi, Head of the Technical Inspection Section, explained the conditions and procedures for registering semi-trailers and caravans and the importance of fulfilling the registration conditions, and ensuring that safety conditions are met.

For his part, Major Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Hammadi, Head of the Traffic Awareness Section, confirmed the completion of all preparations of the Traffic Awareness Section, to implement a comprehensive campaign in a bid to raise the level of safety in camping areas during the (2021-2022) season, with the aim of achieving a traffic environment free of accidents, especially in the Al Udeid and Sealine beaches.

He said: “This campaign is based on indicators and statistical data of the traffic condition during the past years, to ensure that the best results are reached, noting that it targets a number of categories, such as drivers, participants in events, visitors and tourists, as well as people in camping areas, with a special focus on youth categories.”

Captain Khaled Al Khater, the patrol police officer, confirmed that the Southern Traffic Section began implementing plan to secure traffic in the camping areas, by intensifying traffic patrols to organize the movement of caravans and to escort them to the wilderness areas, in addition to preparing patrols to monitor external roads, entrances to and exits from camping areas, emphasizing the speedy response of traffic patrols to reports and to intervention in cases of emergency in coordination with the ambulance service and the General Directorate of Civil Defense.

Meanwhile, Salem Hussein Al Safran, Assistant Director of the Natural Reserves at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change pointed out to the importance of preserving wildlife in wild places, by adhering to places designated for camping, and avoiding natural reserves. He noted that the procedure in force during this season by the organizers is to assemble caravans in specific places, before distributing them to areas designated for camping, saying this contributed to reducing overcrowding.

For her part, Dr Aisha Obaid, assistant director for Injury Prevention Program at Hamad Medical Corporation, presented statistical data on the number of desert bike injuries during the last season, and the most prominent types of injuries received by the Hamad Trauma Center.

Dr. Obaid drew the attention of parents to the importance of watching children and enhancing their knowledge of the potential risks of erroneous behavior during the camping season.

وتأتي هذه الحلقة النقاشية التي حضرها مسؤولون وضباط في الإدارة العامة للمرور، وممثلو الجهات المعنية بالتخييم، وعدد من طلبة المدارس، في إطار الخطة التوعوية للإدارة العامة للمرور الرامية إلى خفض عدد المخالفات، والحد من الحوادث المرورية خلال موسم التخييم الشتوي (2021-2022).

وأوضح المقدم علي البريدي رئيس قسم الفحص الفني، شروط وإجراءات تسجيل /التيادر/ وأشباه المقطورات و/الكرفانات/، وأهمية استيفاء شروط التسجيل، والتأكد من توافر شروط السلامة فيها.

كما قدم المقدم البريدي إحصائية بعدد /التيادر/ و/الكرفانات/ التي تم تسجيلها وترخيصها خلال موسم التخييم الماضي.. مستعرضا شروط السلامة في الدراجة الصحراوية /البطابط/، وإجراءات التسجيل للدراجات الصحراوية أعلى من (50 سي سي)، ومشددا على أنها غير مرخصة للسير على الطريق.

بدروه أكد الرائد الدكتور محمد سليمان الحمادي رئيس قسم التوعية المرورية، اكتمال كافة استعدادات إدارة التوعية المرورية، لتنفيذ حملة شاملة لرفع مستوى السلامة في مناطق التخييم خلال موسم (2021-2022)، بهدف الوصول إلى بيئة مرورية خالية من الحوادث، لا سيما في منطقتي العديد وسيلين.

وقال:” إن هذه الحملة تستند على المؤشرات والبيانات الإحصائية للحالة المرورية خلال الأعوام الماضية، لضمان الوصول إلى أفضل النتائج.. مبينا أنها تستهدف عددا من الفئات، مثل السائقين والمشاركين في الفعاليات، والزوار والسياح، والأشخاص في مناطق التخييم، مع التركيز على فئة الشباب”.

وتتضمن الحملة زيارات ميدانية أسبوعية للتعريف بالمخالفات والسلوكيات المرورية الخطرة، وحث المخيمين على اتباع قواعد وآداب المرور، حيث أعدت إدارة التوعية المرورية لهذه الحملة سيارة مجهزة بأحدث التقنيات، لضمان الوصول إلى جميع مناطق التخييم.

كما أكد النقيب خالد الخاطر ضابط الدوريات، أن قسم مرور الجنوب، بدأ في تنفيذ خطته لتأمين الحركة المرورية في مناطق التخييم، وذلك عبر تكثيف الدوريات المرورية لتنظيم حركة /الكرفانات/ ومرافقتها إلى المناطق البرية، إلى جانب تجهيز دوريات لمراقبة الطرق الخارجية، ومداخل ومخارج مناطق التخييم.. مؤكدا على سرعة استجابة الدوريات المرورية لاستلام البلاغات، والتدخل في حالات الطوارئ بالتنسيق مع خدمة الإسعاف والإدارة العامة للدفاع المدني.

من جانبه دعا السيد سالم حسين آل سفران، مساعد مدير إدارة المحميات الطبيعية بوزارة البيئة والتغير المناخي، إلى أهمية المحافظة على الحياة الفطرية في الأماكن البرية، وذلك من خلال الالتزام بالأماكن المخصصة للتخييم، وتجنب المحميات الطبيعية.

وأشار إلى أن الإجراء المعمول به خلال هذا الموسم من قبل الجهات المنظمة هو تجميع (الكبائن) في أماكن محددة، قبل توزيعها على المناطق المخصصة للتخييم، الأمر الذي ساهم في الحد من الازدحام.

وقدمت الدكتورة عائشة عبيد، مدير مساعد برنامج الوقاية من الإصابات بمؤسسة حمد الطبية، إحصائية خاصة بعدد إصابات الدراجات الصحراوية خلال الموسم الماضي، وأبرز أنواع الإصابات التي يستقبلها مركز حمد للإصابات.

وناشدت الدكتورة عبيد أولياء الأمور بأهمية مراقبة الأبناء، وتعزيز معرفتهم بالمخاطر المحتملة جراء السلوكيات الخاطئة خلال موسم التخييم.
