Amir Meets Head of Hamas Political Bureau

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met at his Amiri Diwan Office on Sunday morning with Head of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Dr. Ismail Haniyeh.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Haniyeh expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to HH the Amir for the State of Qatar’s endeavors and diplomatic efforts that contributed to ending the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people and reaching a calm and a ceasefire in Gaza, as well as its permanent support for the Palestinian people.
For his part, HH the Amir affirmed the State of Qatar’s continued support for the brotherly Palestinian people and their just cause and the importance of the unity of Palestinian ranks in order to obtain their legitimate national rights, foremost among which is their right to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with the two-state solution, international legitimacy decisions and the Arab Peace Initiative, and in a way that enhances security and stability in the region and the world.
Talks during the meeting also dealt with the latest developments in Palestine and efforts to rebuild Gaza.

الدوحة: استقبل حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، بمكتبه بالديوان الأميري صباح الأمس الدكتور إسماعيل هنية رئيس المكتب السياسي لحركة المقاومة الإسلامية في فلسطين (حماس) والوفد المرافق.
وفي بداية المقابلة أعرب الدكتور هنية عن خالص شكره وامتنانه لسمو الأمير المفدى، لمساعي دولة قطر وجهودها الدبلوماسية التي أسهمت في وقف الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية على الشعب الفلسطيني والتوصل الى التهدئة ووقف إطلاق النار في غزة، ودعمها الدائم للشعب الفلسطيني.
من جانبه أكد سمو الأمير المفدى مواصلة دعم دولة قطر للشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق وقضيته العادلة وأهمية وحدة الصف الفلسطيني لنيل حقوقه الوطنية المشروعة، وفي مقدمتها حقه في إقامة دولته المستقلة على أرض وطنه على حدود عام 1967 وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية وفقاً لحل الدولتين وقرارات الشرعية الدولية ومبادرة السلام العربية، وبما يعزز الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة والعالم.
كما تناولت المقابلة آخر تطورات الأوضاع في فلسطين والجهود الساعية لإعادة الإعمار في غزة.
