Qatar will Continue to Support the Palestinian People

Doha: The Peninsula newspaper said in its editorial today that the State of Qatar will continue to support the Palestinian cause until the Palestinians regain all their rights.

The newspaper said that with Israeli brutal attacks entering its second week, over 200 Palestinians, including 58 children, have been martyred in the Gaza Strip, under a shameful silence of the international community.

The Peninsula added that the entire world knows that it is not the first and may not be the last time that Israel continues committing massacres against children, women, and defenseless civilians since 1948, and the inaction of the international community is taken as granting immunity to the occupation forces.

The newspaper added that following its destruction of tower building housing the Al-Jazeera, AP and other media offices, it is more than barbaric that Israel yesterday also shelled and destroyed offices of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), unfortunately all these are passing without immediate and strong response from international community and humanitarian organizations.

The Peninsula stressed that the UN Security Council is lingering and unable to act while the State of Qatar is engaged in intensive diplomatic efforts to end the repeated Israeli acts of aggression against civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. But parallel to the diplomatic course, Qatari efforts to support the Palestinians continue as the current aggression has exacerbated the already deteriorating humanitarian situation, where Qatars Gaza Reconstruction Committee, QRCS and Qatar Charity are working on the ground to meet the urgent needs of the distressed population of Gaza.

In response to ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and Jerusalem, Qatars Gaza Reconstruction Committee began yesterday distributing urgent relief aid to the families of the martyrs and those affected in the Gaza Strip due to the current conditions that the Strip is going through. The Chairman of Qatars Gaza Reconstruction Committee Ambassador Mohammed Al Emadi explained that the cash assistance is provided to the families of martyrs in all five governorates of the Gaza Strip and owners of completely or partially destroyed homes that have become uninhabitable and the aid extended to hundreds of families of martyrs and families whose homes were damaged.

The Peninsula said that according to the QRCS, USD 1m was allocated as an urgent response to secure the necessary needs via the provision of medicines and medical consumables to keep pace with the acute consumption of these materials in the current situation.

At the end of the Editorial, The Peninsula said that Qatari support for the cause is as old as the Palestinian issue itself and Qatar reaffirmed its firm position, not only through words but actions on ground, and will continue supporting the Palestinian cause until the Palestinians regain all of their rights by end of Israeli occupation and establishment of the State of Palestine with East Al Quds as its capital on the borders of 1967.

الدوحة: قالت صحيفة /البيننسولا/ الناطقة بالإنجليزية في افتتاحيتها اليوم، إن دولة قطر ستستمر في دعم القضية الفلسطينية حتى يستعيد الفلسطينيون جميع حقوقهم.

وأضافت الصحيفة أنه ومع دخول هجمات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي الوحشية أسبوعها الثاني، استشهد في قطاع غزة أكثر من 200 فلسطيني، من بينهم 58 طفلا، في ظل صمت مخجل من المجتمع الدولي.

وأوضحت أن العالم كله يعرف أنها ليست المرة الأولى وربما لا تكون الأخيرة التي يواصل فيها الاحتلال الإسرائيلي ارتكاب المجازر بحق الأطفال والنساء والمدنيين العزل منذ عام 1948، وعدم تحرك المجتمع الدولي يعتبر بمثابة منح حصانة لقوات الاحتلال.

ولفتت إلى أنه بعد تدمير مبنى البرج الذي يضم قناة الجزيرة ووكالة أسوشيتد برس ومكاتب إعلامية أخرى، كان الأمر أكثر من همجية أن إسرائيل التي قصفت ودمرت بالأمس مكاتب جمعية الهلال الأحمر القطري، وللأسف تمر كل هذه الأفعال دون استجابة فورية وقوية من المجتمع الدولي والمنظمات الإنسانية.

وبينت أن مجلس الأمن الدولي غير قادر على التحرك فيما تقوم دولة قطر بجهود دبلوماسية مكثفة لإنهاء الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية المتكررة على المدنيين في قطاع غزة المحاصر والمسجد الأقصى المبارك وحي الشيخ جراح. لكن بالتوازي مع المسار الدبلوماسي، تتواصل الجهود القطرية لدعم الفلسطينيين حيث أدى العدوان الحالي إلى تفاقم الوضع الإنساني المتدهور بالفعل، حيث تعمل اللجنة القطرية لإعادة إعمار غزة والهلال الأحمر القطري وقطر الخيرية على الأرض لتلبية الاحتياجات الملحة للسكان المنكوبين في قطاع غزة.

وأشارت إلى أنه استجابة للأزمة الإنسانية المستمرة في غزة والقدس المحتلة، بدأت اللجنة القطرية لإعادة إعمار غزة أمس /الاثنين/، توزيع المساعدات الإغاثية العاجلة على أسر الشهداء والمتضررين في قطاع غزة بسبب الأوضاع الحالية التي يمر بها القطاع، حيث أوضح سعادة السفير محمد العمادي، رئيس اللجنة القطرية لإعادة إعمار غزة، أن المساعدات النقدية تقدم لعائلات الشهداء في جميع محافظات قطاع غزة الخمس وأصحاب المنازل المدمرة كليا أو جزئيا والتي أصبحت غير صالحة للسكن والمساعدات تصل إلى مئات عوائل الشهداء والأسر الذين تضررت منازلهم.

ونقلت الصحيفة عن الهلال الأحمر القطري، أنه تم تخصيص مليون دولار كاستجابة عاجلة لتأمين الاحتياجات الضرورية من خلال توفير الأدوية والمستهلكات الطبية لمواكبة الاستهلاك الحاد لهذه المواد في الوضع الحالي.

وفي ختام الافتتاحية قالت الصحيفة إن الدعم القطري للقضية قديم قدم القضية الفلسطينية نفسها، وقد جددت قطر موقفها الثابت، ليس فقط بالأقوال بل بالأفعال على أرض الواقع، وستستمر في دعم القضية الفلسطينية حتى يستعيد الفلسطينيون جميع حقوقهم بإنهاء الاحتلال الإسرائيلي وإقامة دولة فلسطين وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية على حدود عام 1967.
