Arab League to Hold Extraordinary Ministerial Session Chaired by Qatar

Cairo: The General Secretariat of the Arab League announced Sunday that an extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers will be held virtually on Tuesday, under the chairmanship of the State of Qatar. The session is at the request of the State of Palestine, it added.
Assistant Secretary-General Hossam Zaki, in a statement today, said that it was decided to upgrade the meeting to the ministerial level instead of permanent delegates, in proportion to the seriousness of the Israeli attacks on the worshipers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, as part of an Israeli systematic policy to judaize Al Quds and change the existing legal and historical status of the city and its sanctities.
The ministers will discuss Israeli crimes and aggression in the occupied Al Quds against Muslim and Christian holy sites, especially Al Aqsa mosque, as well as attacking worshipers in the holy month of Ramadan, in addition to the brutal Israeli attacks and plans to seize the homes of Palestinians in Al Quds, especially in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, in an attempt to empty the holy city of its residents and displace its people.

القاهرة: أعلنت الأمانة العامة لجامعة الدول العربية أنه تقرر عقد دورة غير عادية لمجلس جامعة الدول العربية على مستوى وزراء الخارجية العرب يوم غد /الثلاثاء/ افتراضيا برئاسة دولة قطر الرئيس الحالي لمجلس الجامعة، وذلك بناء على طلب دولة فلسطين.
وقال السفير حسام زكي الأمين العام المساعد للجامعة العربية في تصريح له اليوم، إنه تقرر ترفيع مستوى الاجتماع إلى المستوى الوزاري بدلا من مستوى المندوبين الدائمين تناسباً مع خطورة الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية على المصلين بالمسجد الأقصى وعلى سكان حي الشيخ جراح وذلك ضمن سياسة إسرائيلية ممنهجة لتهويد القدس وتغيير الوضع القانوني والتاريخي القائم للمدينة ومقدساتها.
ويبحث الوزراء الجرائم والاعتداءات الإسرائيلية في مدينة القدس المحتلة والمقدسات الإسلامية والمسيحية خاصة المسجد الأقصى المبارك والاعتداء على المصلين في شهر رمضان المبارك، بالإضافة إلى الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية الوحشية والمخططات للاستيلاء على منازل المواطنين المقدسيين خاصة في حي الشيخ جراح في محاولة لتفريغ المدينة المقدسة من سكانها وتهجير أهلها.
