Qatari Aid Shipment Arrives in Lebanon

Beirut: The General Authority of Customs (GAC), through the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), provided a shipment of aid to the Lebanese Customs as a continuation of the humanitarian response implemented by the State of Qatar in the Lebanese Republic following the Beirut Port explosion disaster.
The aid shipment was received by several diplomats at the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Lebanese Republic, and Lebanese customs officials.
The signing ceremony for the handover agreement was attended by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Lebanese Republic Mohammed Hassan Jaber Al Jaber, the embassy counselor Ali Al Mutawa, First Secretary Ali Al Athba, and Second Secretary Ahmed Al Obaidli. From the Lebanese side, HE Chairman of the Supreme Council of Customs Brigadier Assaad Toufayli, Acting Director-General of Lebanon Customs Raymond El Khoury, and Head of Customs’ Studies Department Khalil Al Khoury attended the handover ceremony.
HE Mohammed Hassan Jaber Al Jaber reiterated the State of Qatar’s standing by Lebanon, the continuation of assisting and the completion of the projects that were announced to alleviate the economic and health crisis and support the Lebanese people to overcome the ordeals facing their country, especially after the Beirut Port explosion disaster.
HE the Ambassador expressed his hope that Lebanon would regain its health and its pioneering position thanks to the will of the Lebanese and the assistance of friendly countries.
HE Brigadier Assaad Toufayli thanked the State of Qatar, represented by QFFD and GAC, stressing that this aid reflects the bonds of brotherhood between the two countries and the spirit of cooperation to overcome the most difficult ordeals, especially after the destruction of the customs administration’s offices and equipment as a result of the port explosion. He explained that this aid will contribute to supporting and facilitating customs work to improve all its services.

بيروت: قدمت الهيئة العامة للجمارك، عبر صندوق قطر للتنمية، شحنة من المساعدات إلى الجمارك اللبنانية، وذلك استكمالا للاستجابة الإنسانية التي تنفذها دولة قطر في الجمهورية اللبنانية الشقيقة منذ وقوع كارثة انفجار مرفأ بيروت.
وكان في استقبال شحنة المساعدات عدد من الدبلوماسيين في سفارة دولة قطر لدى الجمهورية اللبنانية، ومسؤولون في الجمارك اللبنانية.
حضر مراسم توقيع اتفاقية التسليم والاستلام، سعادة السيد محمد حسن جابر الجابر سفير دولة قطر لدى الجمهورية اللبنانية، والسيد علي المطاوعة المستشار بالسفارة، والسيد علي العذبة سكرتير أول، والسيد أحمد العبيدلي سكرتير ثان.. فيما حضر من الجانب اللبناني سعادة العميد أسعد طفيلي رئيس المجلس الأعلى للجمارك، والسيد ريمون خوري مدير عام الجمارك بالإنابة، والسيد خليل خوري رئيس مصلحة الدراسات في الجمارك.
وجدد سعادة السيد محمد حسن جابر الجابر، التأكيد على وقوف دولة قطر إلى جانب الأشقاء في لبنان، واستمرار تقديم المساعدات واستكمال المشاريع التي تم الإعلان عنها في سبيل التخفيف من وطأة الأزمة الاقتصادية والصحية، ومساندة اللبنانيين لتخطي المحن التي يواجهها بلدهم الشقيق، خصوصاً بعد كارثة انفجار مرفأ بيروت.
وأعرب سعادة السفير عن أمله في أن يستعيد لبنان عافيته ومركزه الرائد بفضل إرادة اللبنانيين ومساعدة الدول الصديقة.
من جهته، تقدم سعادة العميد أسعد طفيلي، بالشكر لدولة قطر، ممثلة في صندوق قطر للتنمية، والهيئة العامة للجمارك.. مؤكدا أن هذه المساعدات تعكس أواصر الأخوة بين البلدين وروح التعاون لتخطي أصعب المحن، خصوصا بعد الدمار الذي لحق بمكاتب إدارة الجمارك وتجهيزاتها جراء انفجار المرفأ، وقال إن هذه المساعدات ستساهم في دعم العمل الجمركي وتسهيله للارتقاء بكافة الخدمات التي يؤمنها.
