Shura Council Participates in Arab Parliament Plenary Session

Cairo: The Shura Council participated in the fourth plenary session of the first session of the third legislative term of the Arab Parliament, which began at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League on Saturday.
The Shura Council was represented in the session by HE Yousef bin Rashid Al Khater, HE Saqr bin Fahd Al Muraikhi, HE Dr. Aisha bint Yousef Al Mannai, and HE Khalid bin Abdullah Al Buainain, who are members of the Arab Parliament.
The meetings of the four committees of the Arab Parliament were held last Wednesday and Thursday.
The foreign, political and national security affairs committee discussed a number of items, including political and security developments in the Arab world, and the general framework for the Arab Parliament’s report on dealing with the novel Coronavirus pandemic and facing its repercussions.
The legislative, legal and human rights affairs committee discussed a number of items, foremost of which is a draft guiding law to regulate the situation of irregular laborers and protect their rights in the Arab world, in addition to preparing a parliamentary vision on supporting the implementation of the 2030 sustainable development plan in the Arab world in the legislative framework and human rights.
The social, educational and cultural affairs, women and youth committee discussed a number of items, including combating violence against women in the Arab world, and the position regarding work to prepare the Arab convention to combat violence against women and girls.
The economic and financial affairs committee discussed obstacles to implementing Arab economic agreements and legislations as well as means of addressing them and developments in the Arab Customs Union, in addition to preparing for a workshop on the challenges and obstacles facing the private sector in the Arab world.

القاهرة: شارك مجلس الشورى في أعمال الجلسة العامة الرابعة من دور الانعقاد الأول للفصل التشريعي الثالث للبرلمان العربي، التي انطلقت صباح الأمس بمقر الأمانة العامة لجامعة الدول العربية.
مثل مجلس الشورى في أعمال الجلسة، سعادة السيد يوسف بن راشد الخاطر، سعادة السيد صقر بن فهد المريخي، سعادة الدكتورة عائشة بنت يوسف المناعي، سعادة السيد خالد بن عبدالله البوعينين، أعضاء البرلمان العربي.
وكانت اجتماعات لجان البرلمان العربي الأربع انعقدت يومي /الأربعاء/ و/الخميس/، الماضيين.
وقد ناقشت لجنة الشؤون الخارجية والسياسية والأمن القومي عددا من البنود منها التطورات السياسية والأمنية في العالم العربي، والإطار العام لتقرير البرلمان العربي حول التعامل مع جائحة كورونا المستجد ومواجهة تداعياتها.
وبحثت لجنة الشئون التشريعية والقانونية وحقوق الإنسان عددا من البنود، في مقدمتها مشروع قانون استرشادي لتنظيم أوضاع العمالة غير المنتظمة وحماية حقوقها في العالم العربي، إلى جانب إعداد رؤية برلمانية حول دعم تنفيذ خطة التنمية المستدامة 2030 في العالم العربي في الإطار التشريعي وحقوق الانسان.
وناقشت لجنة الشؤون الاجتماعية والتربوية والثقافية والمرأة والشباب، عددا من البنود منها، مكافحة العنف ضد المرأة في العالم العربي، والموقف من العمل على إعداد الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة العنف ضد النساء والفتيات.
وبحثت لجنة الشؤون الاقتصادية والمالية معوقات تنفيذ الاتفاقيات والتشريعات الاقتصادية العربية، وسبل معالجتها وتطورات الاتحاد الجمركي العربي، والإعداد لورشة عمل بشأن التحديات والمعوقات التي تواجه القطاع الخاص في الوطن العربي.
