U.S. Study: Miscarriage Linked to Increased Risk of Early Death

Washington: A new study by U.S scientists revealed that women who have undergone miscarriages are 19% more likely to die prematurely.
According to the British Medical Journal published yesterday, these scientists came to this conclusion after studying the medical follow-up data for 100,000 American women during the years 1993-2017, and comparing them to factors that could affect health, including nutrition and lifestyle.
Scientists have found that women who have had repeated spontaneous abortions, as well as women who have had this type of miscarriage at the beginning of their pregnancy period, are more likely to die prematurely.
The relationship between abortion and premature death was evident in deaths from cardiovascular disease reaching 48 %.
The study indicated that these results show that spontaneous abortion can be an early risk sign for women’s health, including premature death, adding that additional studies must be conducted in order to determine how this miscarriage affects the health of women in the long run.

واشنطن: كشفت دراسة جديدة لعلماء أمريكيين، أن النساء اللواتي تعرضن لعملية الإجهاض التلقائي، أكثر عرضة للوفاة المبكرة بنسبة 19 بالمائة.
وتوصل هؤلاء العلماء وفقا لما نشرته المجلة الطبية البريطانية /British Medical journal / يوم الأمس، إلى هذا الاستنتاج بعد دراستهم لبيانات المتابعة الطبية لمائة ألف امرأة أمريكية خلال أعوام 1993-2017، ومقارنتهم للعوامل التي يمكن أن تؤثر في الصحة بما فيها التغذية ونمط الحياة.
واتضح للعلماء أن النساء اللواتي تعرضن لعمليات الإجهاض التلقائي المتكرر، وكذلك النساء اللواتي حصل عندهن هذا النوع من الاجهاض في بداية فترة الحمل، أكثر عرضة للوفاة المبكرة. وأن العلاقة بين هذا الاجهاض والوفاة المبكرة ظهرت بصورة واضحة في حالات الوفاة بسبب أمراض القلب والأوعية الدموية، حيث بلغت نسبتها 48 بالمائة.
واشارت الدراسة إلى أن هذه النتائج تبين أن الإجهاض التلقائي، يمكن أن يكون علامة خطر مبكرة لصحة النساء، بما فيها الوفاة المبكرة، مستدركة بانه يجب إجراء دراسات إضافية، من أجل تحديد كيفية تأثير هذا الإجهاض في صحة المرأة على المدى البعيد.
