Qatar Welcomes US Rescinding of Sudan’s Designation as a State Sponsor of Terrorism

Doha: The State of Qatar welcomed the United State’s rescinding of Sudan’s designation as a state sponsor of terrorism.
In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs looked forward for this important step to open the door wide before Sudan to fulfill the aspirations of its people for a democratic transition, freedom, peace, justice and economic prosperity.
The statement noted that the State of Qatar has called in all forums for the need to rescind Sudan’s designation as a state sponsor of terrorism to enable it to face challenges. The statement affirmed Qatar’s continued and full support to Sudan in order to preserve its sovereignty, unity, security and stability.

الدوحة: رحبت دولة قطر، بإلغاء الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، تصنيف السودان دولة راعية للإرهاب.
وعبّرت وزارة الخارجية، في بيان يوم الأمس، عن أملها في أن تفتح هذه الخطوة المهمة الباب واسعا أمام السودان لتحقيق تطلعات شعبه الشقيق في الانتقال الديمقراطي والحرية والسلام والعدالة والازدهار الاقتصادي.
ونوه البيان إلى أن دولة قطر ظلت تنادي في كافة المنابر بضرورة إلغاء تصنيف السودان دولة راعية للإرهاب لتمكينه من مواجهة التحديات، كما أكد على استمرار دعم قطر الكامل للسودان من أجل الحفاظ على سيادته ووحدته وأمنه واستقراره.
