Prime Minister Witnesses Signing of Contracts to Implement Transformation to Environmentally Friendly Vehicles

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani witnessed, on Monday morning at the St. Regis Hotel, the signing of contracts to implement the transformation to environmentally friendly vehicles.
HE Prime Minister witnessed the signing of contracts to purchase World Cup buses, as well as the services to operate them and their facilities, and the contract to establish an electric bus assembly plant, in addition to signing 11 contracts for the bus infrastructure that support the private sector.
Under these contracts, with total value of approximately 6 billion riyals, and within the framework of implementing the electric vehicle strategy prepared by the Ministry of Transport and Communications in cooperation with the concerned authorities, electric buses will be provided and the infrastructure for them will be established, such as stations, warehouses and parking lots. Additionally, a factory to assemble electric buses in a free zone will be set up and a number of buses, which run on the new environmentally friendly diesel material that is free of sulfur that causes harmful emissions from the combustion process will be provided.
These contracts were signed by the Free Zones Authority, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the Public Works Authority “Ashghal”, Karwa Transportation Company, the Chinese companies Yutong and Hager and a number of private sector companies working in the field of contracting and construction.
The signing ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers, senior officials concerned and representatives of the implementing companies.

الدوحة: شهد معالي الشيخ خالد بن خليفة بن عبدالعزيز آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية التوقيع على عقود تطبيق التحول للمركبات الصديقة للبيئة وذلك بفندق سانت ريجيس صباح اليوم .
فقد شهد معاليه التوقيع على عقود شراء حافلات كأس العالم وخدمات تشغيلها وتشغيل مرافقها، و عقد إنشاء مصنع تجميع الحافلات الكهربائية بالإضافة إلى التوقيع على 11 عقداً للبنية التحتية للحافلات تدعم القطاع الخاص .
وبموجب هذه العقود التي تبلغ القيمة الإجمالية لها ما يقارب 6 مليار ريال، والتي تندرج في إطار تنفيذ استراتيجية المركبات الكهربائية المعدة من قبل وزارة المواصلات والاتصالات بالتعاون مع الجهات المعنية، سيتم توفير الحافلات الكهربائية وإنشاء البنية التحتية الخاصة بها كالمحطات والمستودعات ومواقف الانتظار، إلى جانب إقامة مصنع لتجميع الحافلات الكهربائية في إحدى المناطق الحرة، بالإضافة إلى توفير عدد من الحافلات التي تعمل على مادة الديزل الجديدة الصديقة للبيئة الخالية من المادة الكبريتية التي تسبب الانبعاثات الضارة الناجمة عن عملية الاحتراق.
ووقع هذه العقود كلاً من هيئة المناطق الحرة واللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث وهيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” وشركة مواصلات كروة، مع شركتي يوتونغ وهايجر الصينيتين، وعدد من شركات القطاع الخاص العاملة في مجال المقاولات والإنشاءات.
حضر مراسم التوقيع، عدد من أصحاب السعادة الوزراء، وكبار المسؤولين المعنيين وممثلو الشركات المنفذة.
