KAHRAMAA Launches Electric Vehicles and Charging Infrastructure Guideline

Doha: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA), represented by the National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency “Tarsheed”, has launched the Electric Vehicles and Charging Infrastructure Guideline in the State of Qatar on its website.
The guide answers all questions related to the installation of electric vehicle charging units for both the government and private sectors, especially with regard to the selection of chargers, types of charging equipment, and general specifications and that must be available in any charger, including charging capacity, charging current, payment collection options, screen and display, charge-point protocol, IP rating, connection quality and warranty for hardware.
The guide also reviews the different capacities of charging stations and their suitability according to each location.
KAHRAMAA encourages the use of DC chargers for public places that take less than an hour to charge and may reach less than half an hour depending on the capacity of the device, which greatly affects the charging time.
The joint work team between KAHRAMAA and the Ministry of Transport and Communications issued this guideline and its technical specifications for chargers and infrastructure equipment is approved by KAHRAMAA, the exclusive provider of electricity in the country, as a supportive step to inform those who wish to install charging units for electric vehicles, whether in the governmental, commercial or industrial sectors.
It is worth noting that the joint team between KAHRAMAA represented by the Conservation and Energy Efficiency Department and the Ministry of Transport and Communication represented by the Technical Affairs Department, receives many requests to install charging units from different entities in the country. Its role is to ensure that all requests comply with the standards and specifications and are in line with the states plans set in this regard to implement electric vehicles strategy.
Interested entities can contact the team to check requests on the e-mail: Echargerstaskforcemotc.gov.qa. The team will soon announce the online submission link to study all incoming applications.

الدوحة: أطلقت المؤسسة العامة القطرية للكهرباء والماء /كهرماء/ ممثلة في البرنامج الوطني للترشيد وكفاءة الطاقة /ترشيد/، /الدليل الاسترشادي للبنية التحتية لوحدات شحن المركبات الكهربائية في دولة قطر/ على موقعها الإلكتروني.
ويقوم الدليل الاسترشادي بالإجابة على كافة الأسئلة التي تتعلق بتركيب وحدات شحن المركبات الكهربائية للقطاعين الحكومي والخاص، خاصة فيما يتعلق باختيار أجهزة الشحن وأنواع معدات الشحن والمواصفات العامة اللازم توافرها في أي شاحن، ومنها قدرة الطاقة ونوع التيار وخيارات العداد الداخلي ونوع الشاشات وبروتكول نقاط الشحن ومستوى الحماية ونوعية الاتصال والبرمجة والضمان للأجهزة.
كما يقوم الدليل باستعراض القدرات المختلفة لمحطات الشحن وتناسبها وفقا لكل مكان، وتشجع كهرماء فئات الشواحن ذات التيار المستمر (DC) للأماكن العامة والتي لا تستغرق أقل من ساعة للشحن وقد تصل لأقل من نصف ساعة بحسب قدرة الجهاز التي تؤثر كثيرا في زمن الشحن.
وقام فريق العمل المشترك بين /كهرماء/ ووزارة المواصلات والاتصالات بإصدار هذا الدليل والمعتمدة مواصفاته الفنية الخاصة بالشواحن وتجهيزات البنية التحتية من قبل /كهرماء/ المزود الحصري للكهرباء بالدولة كخطوة داعمة لتوعية من يرغب في تركيب وحدات شحن للمركبات الكهربائية سواء بالقطاع الحكومي أو التجاري أو الصناعي.
جدير بالذكر أن الفريق المشترك بين /كهرماء/ ممثلة في إدارة الترشيد وكفاءة الطاقة ووزارة المواصلات والاتصالات ممثلة في الشؤون الفنية، يتلقى العديد من طلبات تركيب وحدات شحن كهربائي من جهات مختلفة بالدولة حيث يتم التأكد من أنها تتطابق مع المعايير والمواصفات القياسية، وتتوافق مع خطط الدولة الموضوعة بهذا الخصوص، من قبل فريق عمل تنفيذ استراتيجية تركيب الشواحن الكهربائية.
وأشار الفريق إلى أنه يمكن التواصل معه من أجل فحص كافة الطلبات عن طريق البريد الإلكتروني Echargerstaskforce@motc.gov.qa ، منوها إلى أنه سيعلن قريبا عن رابط التقديم الإلكتروني لدراسة كافة الطلبات الواردة.
