Qatar Partakes in 14th Meeting of Heads of GCC Shura, Representatives, National and Ummah Councils

Doha: The State of Qatar participated in the 14th meeting of Their Excellencies Heads of GCC Shura, Representatives, National and Ummah Councils, held via video conference on Monday.
HE Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud represented the State of Qatar in the meeting.
At the outset of the meeting, Their Excellencies heads of the GCC legislative councils recalled the timeless status of late HH Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, praising his good career and great contributions as one of the founders and supporters of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, his role in achieving welfare of his country and his nation, and his efforts in laying the foundations of international peace and security and in defending the causes of the Arab and Islamic nations, praying to Almighty for HH Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to guide him to continue the process of comprehensive development in all spheres.
They also recalled the significant contributions and sincere efforts of the late HH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
During the meeting, Their Excellencies affirmed their keenness to support the process of cooperation and coordination among the member states in order to achieve the desired goals and objectives in support of the joint Gulf action.
Their Excellencies reviewed the memorandum of the General Secretariat of the GCC submitted to the meeting, on selecting the topic (Emergency Legislation to Reduce the Repercussions of the Coronavirus crisis on small and medium enterprises), as the common Gulf theme for 2021.
They also praised the efforts of the leaders and governments of the Gulf Cooperation Council states in addressing the (COVID-19) pandemic, and its health and economic implications, and in restoring normal life. They emphasized the importance of expediting the establishment of an integrated system and mechanisms for food, water, medicinal and health security among the GCC countries, as well as of seeking to explore new sources of growth and economic sustainability.
Their Excellencies decided to continue exchanging visits with the European Parliament, and working to hold a meeting between the Member States’ councils and the European Parliament, be it via video conferencing or on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meetings.
They also decided to continue communication to hold meetings between the Gulf councils and the Latin American and Caribbean Group on the sidelines of the IPU meetings.

الدوحة: شاركت دولة قطر، في أعمال الاجتماع الدوري الرابع عشر لأصحاب المعالي والسعادة رؤساء مجالس الشورى والنواب والوطني والأمة بدول مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية الذي انعقد اليوم عبر تقنية الاتصال المرئي.
مثل دولة قطر في الاجتماع، سعادة السيد أحمد بن عبدالله بن زيد آل محمود رئيس مجلس الشورى.
وفي بداية الاجتماع استذكر أصحاب المعالي والسعادة رؤساء المجالس التشريعية الخليجية المكانة الخالدة للمغفور له بإذن الله تعالى صاحب السمو الشيخ صباح الأحمد الجابر الصباح، مشيدين بمسيرته الطيبة، وإسهاماته الجليلة ، كأحد المؤسسين والداعمين لمجلس التعاون الخليجي، ودوره في تحقيق الرفاهية لوطنه وأمته ، وجهوده في إرساء دعائم السلم والأمن الدوليين، والذود عن قضايا الأمتين العربية والإسلامية، داعين الله تعالى لصاحب السمو الشيخ نواف الأحمد الجابر الصباح ، أن يوفقه ويسدد خطاه ، لمواصلة مسيرة التنمية الشاملة في كافة مسارات الحياة الإنسانية.
كما استذكروا الاسهامات الرفيعة والجهود المخلصة للمغفور له بإذن الله تعالى صاحب السمو الأمير خليفة بن سلمان آل خليفة.
وأكد أصحاب المعالي والسعادة خلال اجتماعهم حرصهم على دعم مسيرة التعاون والتنسيق بين الدول الأعضاء لكي تتحقق الأهداف والغايات المنشودة في دعم العمل الخليجي المشترك.
واطلع أصحاب المعالي والسعادة على مذكرة الأمانة العامة لمجلس التعاون المقدمة للاجتماع ، بشأن اختيار موضوع ( التشريعات الطارئة للحد من تداعيات أزمة كورونا على المشروعات الصغيرة والمتوسطة) الموضوع الخليجي المشترك لعام 2021م.
وأشادوا بجهود قادة وحكومات دول مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية في التصدي لجائحة فيروس كورونا /كوفيد 19/، وتداعياتها الصحية، والاقتصادية، واستعادة الحياة الطبيعية. وشددوا على أهمية الإسراع في تأسيس منظومة وآليات متكاملة للأمن الغذائي والمائي والدوائي والصحي بين دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، والسعي لاستكشاف مصادر جديدة للنمو واستدامة الاقتصاد.
وقرر أصحاب المعالي والسعادة استمرار الزيارات المتبادلة مع البرلمان الأوروبي، والعمل لعقد اجتماع بين مجالس الدول الأعضاء والبرلمان الأوروبي ، إما عبر الاتصال المرئي أو على هامش اجتماعات الاتحاد البرلماني الدولي.
كما قرروا استمرار الاتصالات لعقد لقاءات بين المجالس الخليجية ومجموعة أمريكا اللاتينية والكاريبي على هامش اجتماعات الاتحاد البرلماني الدولي.
