Awqaf Ministry Provides Prosthetic Devices to Rehabilitate Persons with Disabilities

Doha: The General Directorate of Endowments (Awqaf) at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs public procurement division adopted a number of cases by supporting the Qatar Society for the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities, with QR 125,658 for the benefit of the association’s persons with the motor, auditory, visual and multiple disabilities in general, in addition to cases of autism with limited income, under the auspices of the Health Endowment Fund (HEF).
Director of the General Directorate of Awqaf Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani said that caring for people with disabilities and creating a creative environment for them is one of the most important things Islam encouraged.
He pointed out that this approach provided care and treatment for patients, and the HEF came to continue this path, while the Administration of Endowment the General Directorate of Endowments was keen to support the competent authorities for persons with disabilities, including the Qatar Foundation For Rehabilitation Of Special Needs (QSRN), which happens to be Awqaf’s partner as well.
The Director added that this support comes from the basis of shared competencies and the strengthening of cooperation between the General Directorate of Endowments and QSRN, noting that the association’s support was approved after studying the projects and requirements for purchasing medical devices for the benefit of the persons listed as beneficiaries of the association’s services.
It is worth mentioning that the HEF is one of the significant specialized banks at the local level, and was established based on the historical role of health endowments in Islamic history.
It also provides care for patients of low-income, providing them with appropriate health services, cooperating with the competent authorities to conduct joint health programs as well as educational training courses in the health field, and employ various media means to raise health awareness among the society.

الدوحة: قامت الإدارة العامة للأوقاف بوزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية بتبني عددا من الحالات عن طريق دعم الجمعية القطرية لتأهيل ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة بقيمة 125 ألفا و658 ريالا لصالح أبناء الجمعية من ذوي الإعاقة الحركية والسمعية والبصرية والمتعددة عموما، علاوة على حالات التوحد من ذوي الدخل المحدود، وذلك تحت رعاية المصرف الوقفي للرعاية الصحية.
وفي هذا السياق صرح الدكتور الشيخ خالد بن محمد بن غانم آل ثاني مدير الإدارة العامة للأوقاف بوزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية، إن العناية بذوي الإعاقة، وخلق بيئة إبداعية لهم، من أهم الأمور التي حث عليها الإسلام، ونرى مظاهرها في تاريخنا، فكم من صحابي وعالم من ذوي الإعاقة، رفع الله بهم شأن أمتنا.
وأشار إلى أن على هذا النهج وقفت الوقوف على علاج المرضى والعناية بهم، وقد جاء المصرف الوقفي للرعاية الصحية مكملا لهذه المسيرة المشرقة، وقد حرصت الإدارة العامة للأوقاف بوزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية عن طريقه بدعم الجهات المختصة بذوي الإعاقة، ومنهم الجمعية القطرية لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة، والذين هم شركاؤنا في هذا الخير.
وأضاف مدير الإدارة العامة للأوقاف أن هذا الدعم يأتي من منطلق الاختصاصات المشتركة وتعزيز التعاون بين الإدارة العامة للأوقاف وبين الجمعية القطرية لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة.
ونوه بأنه تمت الموافقة على دعم الجمعية بعد دراسة المشاريع والاشتراط الخاصة بشراء الأجهزة الطبية لصالح المحتاجين المدرجين في قائمة المستفيدين من خدمات الجمعية.
يذكر في هذا السياق أن المصرف الوقفي للرعاية الصحية من المصارف المتخصصة المهمة على الصعيد المحلي وقد أنشئ بناء على الدور التاريخي للأوقاف الصحية في التاريخ الإسلامي، لذا فإن الأوقاف القطرية لم تغفل البعد الصحي من نشاطها في إطار المشاركة المجتمعية حيث حرصت على إنشاء المصرف الوقفي للرعاية الصحية.
كما يوفر رعاية المرضى المحتاجين من محدودي الدخل للعلاج وتوفير الخدمات الصحية المناسبة لهم، والتعاون مع الجهات المختصة لعمل برامج صحية مشتركة، وإقامة الدورات التدريبية التثقيفية بالمجال الصحي، وتوظيف مختلف الوسائل الإعلامية لنشر الثقافة الصحية بين أفراد المجتمع.
