QC, MADLSA Inform Private Sector on Role of Joint Labour Committees

Doha: The Qatar Chamber (QC) held an introductory seminar to raise awareness among private sector companies about the importance of joint labor committees.

The seminar, was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA). Many representatives of contracting companies were present at the event which examined mechanisms of selecting percentage of workers’ representatives in joint labor committees.

The seminar also highlighted role of joint labor committees in creating stimulating labour environment and raising the level of work, thereby increasing production of companies.

During his opening remarks, Assistant Director General for Government Relations and Committees Affairs Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansouri said that the Chamber attaches great importance to providing a suitable climate for employment and improving the relationship between employers and workers, affirming that this will impact positively on the productivity of companies and help in stabilizing labor market in the country, adding that mandate of the Chambers sectorial committees is to consider obstacles pertaining to the private sector such as labor-related issues, assuring that the Chamber is keen to enhance cooperation with all concerned entities to tackle these issues.

For his part, MADLSA Awareness Guidance and Labor Head Ali Al Khalaf delivered a presentation about the procedures of forming joint labor committee which consists of representatives of employers and workers and holds regular meetings to discuss all labor-related issues and address any negative obstacles.

Al Khalaf also said that these committees play an important role in to strengthening the atmosphere of cooperation, improving labor relationships and increasing organizational efficiency within companies, and addressing complaints internally, especially inside large companies that employ large number of workers.

الدوحة: عقدت غرفة قطر بالتعاون مع وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية ندوة تعريفية حول شروط وإجراءات اللجان المشتركة لممثلي العمال في الشركات، وذلك لتوعية القطاع الخاص بأهمية اللجان العمالية المشتركة، وللتعريف بآليات اختيار نسبة ممثلي العمال، وحضر الندوة عدد من ممثلي شركات قطاع المقاولات.

وتناولت الندوة استعراض تنظيم وإجراءات تشكيل اللجان العمالية المشتركة، واستعراض دور هذه اللجان في خلق بيئة عمل محفزة ورفع مستوى العمل، وبالتالي زيادة الإنتاج داخل الشركات.

وخلال الندوة، قال السيد علي بوشرباك المنصوري مساعد المدير العام للعلاقات الحكومية وشؤون اللجان بغرفة قطر، إن الغرفة تولي أهمية كبيرة لتوفير المناخ الملائم للعمالة ورفع الوعي حول أهمية تحسين العلاقة بين أصحاب العمل والعمال، الأمر الذي ينعكس على إنتاجية الشركات وتحسين استقرار سوق العمل في قطر، مشيرا إلى أن اللجان القطاعية بالغرفة تقوم بدراسة كافة المشكلات المتعلقة بالقطاع الخاص بما فيها مسألة العمالة، وتقوم الغرفة بالتعاون مع الجهات المعنية بالسعي نحو حل هذه القضايا.

بدوره، استعرض السيد علي الخلف رئيس قسم التوعية والإرشاد والتنظيمات العمالية بوزارة التنمية الإدارية، خلال عرض تقديمي إجراءات تشكيل اللجان العمالية المشتركة التي تضم ممثلين عن إدارة الشركة وممثلين عن العمال، بحيث تعقد اللجنة اجتماعات بشكل دوري لمناقشة المشكلات المتعلقة بالعمال، ومعالجة أية ظواهر سلبية، موضحا أن اللجان المشتركة ستعزز التعاون وتحسين علاقات العمل وزيادة الفعالية التنظيمية داخل الشركات، خاصة تلك الشركات التي لديها عدد كبير من العمال.
