Ministry: Decision to cancel the closure of shops on Friday and Saturday “subject to evaluation”

Hamad Mohammed Al-Abdan, Director of the Department of Business Development and Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, praised the commitment of the community, the private sector and traders to precautionary measures, especially during the first phase of the gradual lifting of corona restrictions.

“It is not surprising that there is a positive reaction from the community to follow precautionary measures during the first phase,” he said during the Social Distance program on Qatar TV on Monday evening about the gradual opening of commercial complexes and other commercial activities, the most important conditions to be met and compliance with the guidelines and procedures.

He pointed out that there was an initial or partial opening equivalent to 30% of the commercial centers to restart economic cycle and accordingly the situation was assessed by meeting with the commercial centers and reviewing the mechanisms and precautionary methods for reopening and there was complete satisfaction, commitment and responsibility of all.

In response to a question regarding the closure of shops on Friday and Saturday and whether this decision will continue to effective and for how long?, Hamad Mohammed Al-Abdan said: This decision is subject to the evaluation of the High Committee for Crisis Management, which said that there will be a decision in due course after assessing the situation in general.

أشاد حمد محمد العبدان مدير إدار تنمية الأعمال وترويج الاستثمار في وزارة التجارة والصناعة بالتزام المجتمع والقطاع الخاص والتجار بالإجراءات الاحترازية خاصة خلال المرحلة الأولى من مراحل الرفع التدريجي لقيود كورونا.

وقال خلال برنامج المسافة الاجتماعية على تلفزيون قطر مساء اليوم الإثنين حول بدء الافتتاح التدريجي للمجمعات التجارية وغيرها من الأنشطة التجارية وأهم الشروط الواجب توافرها والالتزام بالضوابط والإجراءات إنه من غير المستغرب أن يكون هناك رد فعل إيجابي من المجتمع في اتباع الإجراءات الاحترازية خلال المرحلة الأولى.

واشار إلى أنه كان هناك فتح أولي أو جزئي بما يعادل 30% للمراكز التجارية لإعادة دورة الاقتصاد وبناءً عليه تم تقييم الوضع بالاجتماع مع المراكز التجارية واستعراض الآليات والطرق الاحترازية لإعادة الفتح وكان هناك رضا تام والتزام وروح مسؤولية من الجميع.

ورداً على سؤال يتعلق بإغلاق المحلات التجارية يومي الجمعة السبت وهل سيظل هذا القرار سار وإلى متى؟، قال حمد محمد العبدان: هذا القرار خاضع لتقييم اللجنة العليا لإدارة الأزمات، والتي قالت إنه سيكون هناك قرار في حينه بعد تقييم الوضع بشكل عام.
