Qatar Participates in Launching Arab Vision 2045 to Achieve Development Goals

Cairo: The State of Qatar participated in the 31st ministerial session of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) held Monday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo.

HE Director of the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Shaheen bin Ali Al Kaabi chaired the State of Qatar’s delegation in the session.

The event witnessed the launch of the Arab Vision 2045 prepared by ESCWA in collaboration with the Arab League to bolster regional integration and cooperation, and help Arab states achieve their development goals.

Addressing the session, Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit outlined that the Arab Vision 2045 consists of six interconnected pillars, chiefly security, safety, justice, fairness, innovation and creativity, prosperity and sustainable development, diversity, and vitality, as well as cultural and civilizational renewal. He pointed out that these pillars have been selected in recognition of the region’s priorities and in response to the major evolutions the world is witnessing.

The vision stems from the conviction of the merits of Arab solidarity through citing the relevant international and Arab charters and resolutions. It also serves as complementary to the United Nations’ Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, Aboul Gheit added, affirming that the vision intends to give priority to the needs and orientations of the Arab states and peoples in alignment with the national agendas and visions to be further integrated from the perspective of youth ownership of the future.

The vision emphasizes the well-established system of human values in the region as the foundational building block for human development, Aboul Gheit noted, adding that opting for 2045 to achieve the vision was not a coincidence but rather it marks the centenary of the founding of both Arab League and the UN.

He pointed out that the vision targets the accomplishment of the development in terms of an overarching and integrated perspective to express the hopes for a bright future in which the hopes of the peoples of the Arab region- whether individuals or groups- are achieved in addition to advancing determination, activating capacities, and spurring cooperation.

For her part, Executive Secretary of ESCWA Rola Dashti said this convention at the headquarters of the Arab League is not only intended to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of ESCWA but to renew commitment to mutual cooperation and prosperity and launch the Arab Vision 2045 prepared through a broad dialogue and participatory approach on the part of experts and young people, as well as think tanks organizations.

The Arab Vision 2045 drew on ESCWA’s rich expertise and experiences to be a mirror of collective ambitions that squarely reflects the massive potential the large Arab region abounds with, Dashti added, pointing out that the vision represents a starting point towards a future full of diversity and cultural richness that primarily capitalizes on the human and natural resources, spurs innovation and regional cooperation, as well as achieves the civilizational leap in sciences, communications and knowledge that have revolutionized the world.

القاهرة: شاركت دولة قطر في أعمال الدورة الوزارية الحادية والثلاثين للجنة الأمم المتحدة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لغربي آسيا “إسكوا”، التي عقدت اليوم بمقر الأمانة العامة لجامعة الدول العربية بالقاهرة.

ترأس وفد دولة قطر في أعمال الدورة سعادة السيد شاهين بن علي الكعبي مدير إدارة التعاون الدولي بوزارة الخارجية.

وشهدت أعمال الدورة إطلاق “الرؤية العربية 2045″، التي أعدتها “إسكوا” بالتعاون مع جامعة الدول العربية؛ بهدف تعزيز التكامل والتعاون الإقليميين، ومساعدة الدول العربية في تحقيق الأهداف التنموية.

وفي هذا الإطار، أوضح السيد أحمد أبو الغيط الأمين العام لجامعة الدول العربية، في كلمته خلال الاجتماع، أن “الرؤية العربية 2045” تتألف من ستة أركان مترابطة، هي: الأمن والأمان، العدل والعدالة، الابتكار والإبداع، الازدهار والتنمية المستدامة، التنوع والحيوية، التجدد الثقافي والحضاري، مشيرا إلى أنه تم اختيار هذه الأركان مراعاة لأولويات المنطقة، وتجاوبا مع التغيرات الكبرى التي يشهدها العالم.

وأضاف أبو الغيط أن هذه الرؤية تنطلق من القناعة بمزايا التضامن العربي، وتسترشد بالمواثيق والقرارات الدولية والعربية ذات الصلة، كما تتمم خطة الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة لعام 2030، بالإضافة إلى إعطاء الأولوية لاحتياجات الدول والشعوب العربية وتوجهاتها، والاتساق مع الخطط والرؤى الوطنية والتكامل معها من منظور ملكية الشباب للمستقبل، فضلا عن أنها تشدد على منظومة القيم الإنسانية الراسخة في المنطقة بوصفها اللبنة الأساس في التنمية البشرية.

وقال: “إن اختيار عام 2045 لتحقيق الرؤية لم يأت صدفة، بل هو العام الذي يصادف الذكرى المئوية لتأسيس كل من جامعة الدول العربية والأمم المتحدة”، لافتا إلى أن هذه المبادرة تستهدف تحقيق التنمية وفق منظور شامل ومتكامل، وتعبير عن الآمال في مستقبل مشرق تتحقق فيه آمال شعوب المنطقة العربية أفرادا ومجموعات، وتنهض بالهمم، وتفعل الطاقات، وتحفز على التعاون.

من جانبها، قالت رولا دشتي الأمين التنفيذي لمنظمة “إسكوا”: “إننا نجتمع اليوم في “بيت العرب”، الجامعة العربية، لا لنحتفل فقط باليوبيل الذهبي للإسكوا، بل لنجدد التزامنا بحلم التعاون والازدهار المشترك، ولنطلق “الرؤية العربية 2045″، التي تم إعدادها بمنهجية حوارية وتشاركية واسعة من الخبراء والشباب ومن مراكز الأبحاث”.

وأضافت دشتي: “أن الرؤية العربية 2045 اعتمدت على خبرات وتجارب “إسكوا” الغنية لتكون مرآة لطموحاتنا الجماعية تعكس إمكانات منطقتنا الكبيرة”، لافتة إلى أنها تمثل نقطة انطلاق نحو مستقبل يتسم بالتنوع والثراء الثقافي، يستفيد من الثروات البشرية والطبيعية، وتحفيز الابتكار والتعاون الإقليمي، ويحقق الوثبة الحضارية في عالم يشهد ثورة في العلوم والاتصالات والمعرفة.
