Qatar Charity’s “Launching 10 Aid Aircraft For Palestine” Initiative Kicks Off

Doha: Qatar Charity (QC) has initiated the “Launching 10 Aid Aircraft for Palestine” initiative as part of its “One Heart” winter campaign.

The initiative aims to engage the people in Qatar in supporting those affected in the Gaza Strip through both in-kind and cash donations. It also aims to provide an opportunity for various segments of the community in Qatar to participate in preparing relief aid to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and help them cope with the escalating humanitarian situation, especially with the onset of winter.

The initiative, which runs from Dec. 10 to 15, aims to launch 10 aid aircraft with 600 tons of humanitarian aid.

CEO’s assistant for the Resources Development and Media Sector at Qatar Charity, Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo stated during his speech at the initiative’s press conference that this initiative is of added importance at a time when humanitarian conditions are worsening in the Gaza Strip and Palestine due to a significant shortage in the basic needs of the population in all fields, especially in the fields of drinking water, food, shelter, and healthcare.

Director of the Emergency and Relief Department at Qatar Charity, Khalid Al Yafei affirmed Qatar Charity’s commitment to swiftly providing humanitarian support to the people of Gaza since the early days of the ongoing crisis, whether through its partners or via the Qatari airlift from Doha to Arish.

He stated that this is done as a humanitarian duty to contribute to alleviating their suffering due to the shortage of living necessities and the absence of essential services in the areas of food, shelter, health, and others.

Al Yafei expressed his hope that the support, through the “Launching 10 Aid Aircraft for Palestine” initiative, would continue for the benefit of the affected in Gaza and Palestine.

CEO’s assistant for the Programs and Community Development sector at Qatar Charity, Faisal Rashid Al Fehaida said that they hope that the values and culture of charity and humanitarian work will turn into a behavior in the lives of youth, children, and members of our community through their participation in humanitarian initiatives and events and their support for them in all possible forms.

He indicated that Qatar Charity, through the “Launching 10 Aid Aircraft for Palestine” initiative, allows all, both citizens and residents, in Qatar to provide assistance to the affected in the Gaza Strip and Palestine by contributing to the packing of food items that will be sent to them, or by making in-kind and cash donations.

The initiative is expected to see the participation of several Arab football stars and social media influencers from Qatar and the Gulf region.

الدوحة: أعلنت قطر الخيرية عن إطلاق مبادرة: “تسيير 10 طائرات إغاثية لأجل فلسطين”، ضمن حملتها لمواجهة مخاطر الشتاء “كالجسد الواحد”؛ بهدف إشراك أهل قطر في دعم المتضررين في قطاع غزة بتبرعاتهم العينية والنقدية، إضافة لإتاحة فرصة المشاركة للمجتمع القطري بمختلف شرائحه في تجهيز المساعدات الإغاثية؛ وذلك للتخفيف من معاناة الشعب الفلسطيني ومساعدته على مواجهة الوضع الإنساني المتفاقم، خصوصا مع دخول الشتاء.

وتستهدف المبادرة، التي تستمر في الفترة ما بين (10 وحتى 15 من ديسمبر الجاري) تسيير 10 طائرات إغاثية تبلغ حمولتها ما يعادل 600 طن من المساعدات العينية.

وقال السيد أحمد يوسف فخرو مساعد الرئيس التنفيذي لقطاع تنمية الموارد والإعلام بـ قطر الخيرية ،خلال مؤتمر صحفي، إن “هذه المبادرة تكتسب أهمية إضافية في وقت تزداد فيه الأوضاع الإنسانية تفاقما في قطاع غزة وفلسطين، على ضوء النقص الكبير في الاحتياجات الأساسية للسكان في كافة المجالات، وخصوصا المياه الصالحة للشرب والغذاء والإيواء والصحة، واشتداد وطأة البرد، ومع ارتفاع حركة النزوح وغياب الوقود ووسائل التدفئة”.

من جهته، أكد السيد خالد اليافعي مدير إدارة الطوارئ والإغاثة بـ قطر الخيرية “حرص المؤسسة على المسارعة في تقديم الدعم الإنساني لأهلنا في غزة منذ الأيام الأولى للأزمة المتواصلة هناك، بالتعاون مع شركائها أو من خلال الجسر الجوي القطري من الدوحة إلى العريش، وذلك قياما بواجبها الأخوي والإنساني، وإسهاما في التخفيف من معاناتهم بسبب نقص الاحتياجات المعيشية وغياب الخدمات الأساسية في مجالات الغذاء والإيواء والصحة وغيرها”.

وأعرب عن أمله في أن تشكل المبادرة رافدا إضافيا من روافد استمرار الدعم لأهلنا المتضررين في غزة وفلسطين، وتنفيذ المزيد من المشاريع والمساعدات الإغاثية الذين هم بأمس الحاجة إليها.

وعلى نحو متصل، أعرب السيد فيصل راشد الفهيدة مساعد الرئيس التنفيذي لقطاع البرامج وتنمية المجتمع بـ قطر الخيرية عن أمله في أن تحظى هذه المبادرة بالتجاوب الكبير والمساهمة الواسعة حتى تحقق أهدافها الإنسانية النبيلة بفزعة وهمة الجميع، مضيفا أن قطر الخيرية تتيح من خلال المبادرة فرصة المشاركة لكافة أفراد المجتمع القطري والمقيمين في قطر؛ بهدف تقديم المساعدة للمتضررين في قطاع غزة وفلسطين من خلال الإسهام في تعبئة وتجهيز المواد الغذائية التي سترسل إليهم أو التبرع بالمواد العينية، فضلا عن التبرعات النقدية لصالح المبادرة.

ومن المنتظر أن تشهد المبادرة مشاركة عدد من نجوم الكرة العربية، ومؤثري وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي من دولة قطر والخليج.
