Qatar Charity Inaugurates Multi-service Center in Ghana

Accra: Qatar Charity (QC) inaugurated a multi-service center in Abokobi of Accra, the capital of Ghana. The multi-service center, named “Al-Rahmah Center”, has a large mosque, a Quran education center, a water well, and a spacious hall for educational, cultural, and charitable activities.
The inauguration of the multi-service center was attended by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Ghana Mohammed bin Ahmad Al Homaid, and Chief Imam of Ghana Dr. Osmanu Sharubutu, along with many Islamic scholars and prominent figures. The center, which has the largest mosque, serves the residents of Abokobi in various fields.
HE Ambassador of Qatar to Ghana Mohammed bin Ahmad Al Homaid expressed his pride in implementing such projects that contribute to serving the Muslim community. He also hoped for further support and cooperation between Qatar and Ghana to strengthen collaboration between the two nations.
Chief Imam of Ghana Dr. Osmanu Sharubutu said that this project is vital for Abokobi, noting that he had participated in laying the foundation stone of the project in 2017, when it was a direct community effort. However, Qatar Charity was able to complete the project recently with generous support and funding from the donors in Qatar.
He emphasized that this project contributes to human development and education for Muslim children. He stated that the center will be open to anyone interested in learning about Islam and its noble teachings. He thanked the donors and Qatar Charity for their significant efforts.
In addition to the mosque and the water well, the center comprises 3 classrooms, each capable of accommodating 40 students, dedicated to teaching the Quran and the Arabic language. It also includes a main office for the teachers and a hall for educational, cultural, and charitable activities, with a capacity for up to 400 people.
On his part, Director of Qatar Charity’s Office in Ghana Engineer Hassan Ouda highlighted the significance of the project, which will benefit the area in various ways. He noted that, through the center, Qatar Charity is expected to implement a wide range of activities and projects for orphans, widows, and others in the fields of education, training, development, and economic empowerment. He further pointed out that Qatar Charity’s office in Ghana is engaged in implementing several important projects during this period.
It is worth mentioning that the Qatar Charity’s office in Ghana has recently inaugurated several important projects, including a health clinic, mosques, a water well, and a classroom, in various regions of the country.

أكرا: افتتحت قطر الخيرية في منطقة /أبوكوبي/ بالعاصمة الغانية /أكرا/ “مركز الرحمة للتعليم”، والذي يعد مشروعا متعدد الخدمات، يشتمل على مسجد كبير ومركز لتعليم وتحفيظ القرآن الكريم وبئر للمياه وصالة كبيرة لتنفيذ الفعاليات التعليمية والثقافية والخيرية.
وحضر افتتاح المركز سعادة السيد محمد بن أحمد الحميد سفير دولة قطر لدى غانا، والشيخ الدكتور عثمان شاروبوتو رئيس أئمة المسلمين في غانا، ولفيف من علماء الدين. ويخدم المشروع، أهل /أبوكوبي/ في عدة مجالات، لا سيما وأنه يوجد به أكبر مسجد.
وقال سعادة سفير دولة قطر السيد محمد بن أحمد الحميد، إنه فخور بمثل هذا النوع من المشروعات التي تساهم في خدمة المسلمين، معربا عن تمنياته بمزيد من الدعم والتعاون بين قطر وغانا لتوطيد أواصر التعاون المشترك بينهما.
فيما أشار الشيخ عثمان شاروبوتو رئيس أئمة المسلمين في غانا، إلى أن هذا المشروع نوعي وحيوي لمنطقة /أبوكوبي/، موضحا خلال حفل الافتتاح، أنه اشترك في وضع حجر الأساس للمشروع في عام 2017 عندما كان ذلك بجهود من المجتمع بصورة مباشرة، لكن بفضل الله تعالى استطاعت قطر الخيرية إكمال المشروع بدعم وتمويل كريم من المتبرعين القطريين حتى رأى النور مؤخرا.
وأوضح أن هذا المشروع يسهم في بناء الإنسان وتعليم أبناء المسلمين القيم الدينية والأخلاقية، مشيرا إلى أن المركز سيكون مفتوحا لكل من يريد التعرف على الإسلام وتعاليمه السمحة. وشكر المتبرعين القطريين وقطر الخيرية على جهودهم الكبيرة، وأضاف” أدعو الله أن يكون هذا المشروع في ميزان حسناتهم وشاهدا لهم عند الله عز وجل”.
وإضافة للمسجد والبئر؛ فإن مركز الرحمة للتعليم يتكون من 3 فصول دراسية يستوعب كل منها 40 طالبا مخصصة لتعليم القرآن واللغة العربية، ومكتب رئيسي للمعلمين، وصالة تستخدم لتنفيذ الأنشطة والفعاليات التعليمية والثقافية والخيرية تتسع لـ 400 شخص.
من جانبه، استعرض المهندس حسن عودة، مدير مكتب قطر الخيرية في غانا أهمية المشروع، مؤكدا أنه سيكون نواة للمنطقة تستفيد منه في أكثر من جانب، وسيعتبر مركزا تقوم قطر الخيرية من خلاله بتنفيذ مجموعة كبيرة من الأنشطة والمشروعات الأخرى التي لها علاقة بالأيتام والأرامل أو التعليم والتدريب والتنمية والتمكين الاقتصادي.
وأشار إلى أن المشروع سيكون مركزا لتوزيع المساعدات وتنفيذ أنشطة وفعاليات تعليمية وثقافية، موضحا أن مكتب قطر الخيرية في غانا يعكف على تنفيذ عدد من المشاريع المهمة في هذه الفترة.
جدير بالذكر أن مكتب قطر الخيرية في غانا افتتح خلال الفترة الماضية حزمة من المشروعات المهمة في عدة مناطق منها عيادة صحية في /بيسيكان في وا/، ومسجد، وبئر، وفصل دراسي في /دودوا/، وبئر في مخيم /ليبيريا/، ومسجدان في /أبليكوما/، بجانب بئر أخرى في /كواداسو/ بالمنطقة.
