What do you know about the cursed city?

Despite the enchanting beauty of one of Italy’s most famous small towns and the stunning scenery that surrounds it, it hides a secret between its buildings. Many Italians avoid mentioning the name of the city that everyone calls “the cursed city”, because of the many rumors about stories related to the city and its history. Residents associate the name of the cursed city of Colobraro with bad luck and ill omen and many generational stories, according to The Sun.

Italians try not to name the city because they believe that it will cause a big problem for their lives or for their day and bring bad omens. The myth of the curse dates back to the 1940s when the mayor, Piaggio Virgilio, said at a city council meeting that “this chandelier will fall if I don’t tell the truth”, and seconds later the huge chandelier shattered on his head, and since then locals have believed that their city has been cursed for an unknown reason. Only the locals enter the city, as well as the few brave people who love adventures and fairy tales, and people never come out at nightfall. The newspaper pointed out that there are strange cases, including landslides and strange traffic accidents, affecting only visitors of the “cursed” city.

بالرغم من الجمال الساحر الذي تتمتع به إحدى أشهر المدن الإيطالية الصغيرة، والمناظر الطبيعية الخلابة التي تحيط بها، إلا أنها تخفي سرا بين أبنية منازلها.يتجنب الكثير من الإيطاليين ذكر اسم المدينة التي يلقبها الجميع بـ”المدينة الملعونة”، بسبب كثرة الإشاعات التي تتحدث عن قصص ترتبط بالمدينة وتاريخها.ويربط السكان اسم مدينة “كولوبرارو” الملعونة بالفأل السييء وسوء الحظ والكثير من القصص التي تتناقلها الأجيال، بحصب “ذا صن”.ويحاول الإيطاليون عدم ذكر اسم المدينة لاعتقادهم أن ذكرها سيسبب مشكلة كبيرة لحياتهم أو ليومهم وسيجلب الفأل السييء. وتعود أسطورة اللعنة إلى أربعينيات القرن العشرين عندما قيل إن العمدة، بياجيو فيرجيليو، قال في اجتماع لمجلس المدينة “ستسقط هذه الثريا إذا لم أقل الحقيقة”وبعد ثوانٍ تحطمت الثريا الضخمة على رأسه، ومنذ ذلك الحين يعتقد السكان المحليون أن مدينتهم قد لعنت لسبب مجهول. ولا يدخل المدينة إلا السكان المحليون بالإضافة إلى القلة القليلة الشجاعة التي تعشق المغامرات وقصص الخيال، ولا يخرج الناس أبدا عند حلول الظلام. وأشارت الصحيفة إلى وجود حالات غريبة منها حدوث انهيارات أرضية وحوادث سير غريبة، تصيب فقط زوار المدينة “الملعونة”.
