Qatar Participates in GCC-EU Conference on Countering Extremist Ideology, Radicalization

Riyadh: The State of Qatar took part in the GCC-EU Conference on Countering Extremist Ideology and Radicalization, which concluded Wednesday at the GCC General Secretariate in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Director of the Economic and Cyber Crimes Combating Department at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Ali Hassan Al Kubaisi, member of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee headed Qatar’s delegation to the conference.
The conference was convened within the framework of joint cooperation between the GCC countries, in order to activate the joint action plan between GCC countries European Union (EU).
The two-day conference tackled practical and procedural issues related to counter extremism efforts. Participants from member states and civil society organizations presented several papers with the aim of exchanging experiences in the field of combating extremist ideology and discussing methods of terrorist recruitment in order to combat them.

الرياض: شاركت دولة قطر في المؤتمر الخليجي الأوروبي لمكافحة الفكر المتطرف، الذي اختتم أعماله اليوم، بمقر الأمانة العامة لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية بالرياض.
وترأس وفد دولة قطر في المؤتمر الذي عقد على مدى يومين العميد علي حسن الكبيسي، مدير إدارة مكافحة الجرائم الاقتصادية والإلكترونية بالإدارة العامة للمباحث الجنائية وعضو اللجنة الوطنية لمكافحة الإرهاب.
وجاء المؤتمر في إطار التعاون المشترك بين دول مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية، تفعيلا لخطة العمل المشتركة بين دول المجلس والاتحاد الأوروبي.
وناقش المؤتمر، الموضوعات العلمية والإجرائية المتعلقة بجهود مكافحة التطرف، حيث قدم المشاركون من الدول الأعضاء والمنظمات المدنية، العديد من أوراق العمل بهدف تبادل الخبرات في مجال مكافحة الفكر المتطرف ومناقشة أساليب الاستقطاب الإرهابي بغية مواجهتها.
