Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev toured on Monday evening a number of museums and historical sites in the city of Samarkand.
During the tour, His Highness and HE the Uzbek President listened to an explanation about the history of the Observatory of Ulugbek and its role in the development of astronomical sciences among Muslims.
During their visit to the Afrasiyab Museum, they were briefed on the most prominent archaeological holdings and artifacts, which document the most important historical highlights of the city of Samarkand, and the various archaeological areas of Uzbekistan.
Also, HH the Amir and HE the Uzbek President visited Registan Square and listened to an explanation about the history of civilization and Islamic and experimental sciences in and around Samarkand, and concluded their tour with a visit to the Eternal City, where they were briefed on the most prominent customs and heritage traditions that the Uzbek people adhere to since ancient times.
During the tour, HH the Amir was accompanied by a number of Their Excellencies members of the accompanying official delegation.

سمرقند: قام حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، وفخامة الرئيس شوكت ميرضيائيف رئيس جمهورية أوزبكستان، بجولة في عدد من المتاحف والمواقع التاريخية في مدينة سمرقند، مساء الأمس.
وخلال الجولة، استمع سموه وفخامة الرئيس الأوزبكي إلى شرح عن تاريخ مرصد أولوغبيك ودوره في تطور العلوم الفلكية لدى المسلمين، واطلعا خلال زيارتهما لمتحف أفراسياب على أبرز المقتنيات والتحف الأثرية، التي توثق أهم المحطات التاريخية لمدينة سمرقند، ومختلف المناطق الأوزبكية الأثرية.
كما قام سمو الأمير المفدى وفخامة الرئيس الأوزبكي بزيارة لميدان ريجستان، استمعا خلالها لشرح عن تاريخ الحضارة والعلوم الإسلامية والتجريبية في سمرقند وما حولها، وختما جولتهما بزيارة المدينة الخالدة، والتي اطلعا فيها على أبرز العادات والتقاليد التراثية التي يتمسك بها الشعب الأوزبكي منذ القدم.
رافق سمو الأمير، خلال الجولة، عدد من أصحاب السعادة أعضاء الوفد الرسمي المرافق.
