Qatar Charity rehabilitates food-processing units in Gaza
«قطر الخيرية» تؤهل وحدتين للتصنيع الغذائي بغزة
Qatar Charity (QC) rehabilitated two food-processing units at the Women and Child Empowerment Centers of the Ministry of Social Development in the Gaza Strip the cost of up to $29,000. The rehabilitation of the units came with the support of benefactors in Qatar as part of the bakery and traditional food project to provide various high-quality services efficiently and empower women with limited income economically.
The project, which is one of the economic empowerment projects, included rehabilitating the premises, establishing a bakery equipped with all the equipment required for operation such as automatic kneaders, gas and electric ovens, mixers, refrigerators, electronic grinder, and other cooking utensils.
The project has contributed to the employment of some poor women who take care of their families, as the rehabilitation of the two units in the Gaza Strip has provided steady employment for 40 women.
Wafa Mustafa, a mother of six, whose family was jobless, has expressed her happiness at finding her new job at one of these units, which will enable her to support her family with her monthly salary.
During the last year, Qatar Charity implemented 328 income-generating projects in the Gaza Strip at the cost of $740,507, in coordination with many local and governmental institutions.
These projects benefited 328 families with a total of 2,462 persons, who were sponsored by Qatar Charity under the Social Welfare and Sponsorship Programme, in addition to poor families, who were not sponsored.
The projects targeted five main sectors, which are agriculture, fishing, profession and craft, trade, and livestock, to contribute to alleviating the economic and social pressures on orphans and their families, as well as improving their income.

وجاء تأهيل وحدتي التصنيع الغذائي في إطار مشروع مخبز المخبوزات والمأكولات الشعبية، الذي موله محسنون من أهل قطر، ونفذته «قطر الخيرية» بهدف تقديم خدماتها المتنوعة بكفاءة وجودة عالية، وتوفير فرص للنساء ذات الدخل المحدود وتمكينهن اقتصادياً.
وتضمن المشروع، وهو من مشاريع التمكين الاقتصادي، تأهيل المكان وإنشاء مخبز وتزويده بكل الأجهزة والمعدات اللازمة للتشغيل من عجانات أتوماتيكية، وأفران تعمل بالغاز والكهرباء، إضافة إلى لوازم أخرى للمركز شملت خلاطات، وثلاجات، وأواني وقدور للطبخ، وفرامة إلكترونية، وغيرها من أدوات الطبخ.
وساهم المشروع في تشغيل بعض النساء اللواتي يعلن أسرهن وتحسين مستوى دخلهن، كما ساهم في تعزيز دور هذين المركزين في المجتمع الغزي ليقدما خدماتهما المتنوعة بكفاءة عالية.
ومنح تأهيل الوحدتين في كل من محافظتي شمال ووسط القطاع فرص عمل ثابته لـ 40 امرأة، وقد كشفت السيدة «وفاء مصطفى» وهي أم لستة أطفال تعاني أسرتها من البطالة، عن سعادتها بوظيفتها الجديدة في هذه الوحدة، لأنها ستمكنها من تلبية احتياجاتها الأسرية، بعد أن صار بمقدورها الحصول على راتب شهري نتيجة عملها داخل الوحدة.
كما فتح تأهيل الوحدتين الأفق أمام النساء الفقيرات في كل من المحافظتين للاستفادة من مجمل الأنشطة التي تقدمها المراكز، لاسيما دورات التدريب الخاصة بطهي الطعام.
