Zakat Affairs Department Announces Amount of Zakat Al Fitr

Doha: The Department of Zakat Affairs at the Ministry of Endowment (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has urged the public to pay Zakat Al Fitr for themselves and their dependents on time, whether male or female, minor or adult.

In a statement, the Department of Zakat Affairs specified the amount of Zakat Al Fitr for the month of Ramadan 1444 AH, equivalent to QR 15, and that it must be paid before the Eid Al Fitr prayer.

Director of the Zakat Affairs Department Saad Omran Al Kuwari said that the department is keen annually to determine the value of Zakat Al Fitr after assigning several specialists at the Zakat services section to study the prices of rice and calculate the average prices to determine the actual value of Zakat Al Fitr. He indicated that the basic principle of Zakat Al Fitr is to take it out from most of the people’s food, which is rice, and the amount is 2.5 kg, with the possibility of paying it in cash at a value of QR 15.

The Director of the Zakat Affairs Department urged the public to pay the Zakat Al Fitr to the Zakat Affairs Department, the official government agency concerned with collecting Zakat in the State of Qatar, so the department delivers it to the actual beneficiaries inside Qatar before the Eid Al Fitr prayer. He indicated that those wishing to pay Zakat Al Fitr could pay their Zakat through the offices of the Department of Zakat Affairs, which is spread across the country, or through the department’s website.

الدوحة: دعت إدارة شؤون الزكاة بوزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية، الجمهور إلى المبادرة بإخراج زكاة فطرهم ومن يعولون في موعدها، منبهاً إلى أنها فريضة على المسلم ذكراً كان أم أنثى، كبيراً أم صغيراً.

جاء ذلك في بيان أصدرته الإدارة، وحددت فيه مقدار زكاة الفطر لشهر رمضان 1444هـ، بما يعادل (15) ريالاً قطرياً، وأنه يتعيَّنُ إخراجها قبل صلاة عيد الفطر.

وقال السيد سعد عمران الكواري مدير إدارة شؤون الزكاة، أن الإدارة تحرص سنوياً على تحديد قيمة زكاة الفطر بعد تكليف عدد من المتخصصين لدى قسم خدمات الزكاة بدراسة أسعار الأرز وحساب متوسط الأسعار لتحديد القيمة الفعلية لزكاة الفطر، مبيناً أن الأصل في زكاة الفطر إخراجها طعاماً من غالب قوت الناس وهو الأرز، ومقدارها بالصاع النبوي 2.5 كم، مع جواز إخراجها نقداً بقيمة (15) ريالاً قطرياً.

وأشار إلى مشروعية زكاة الفطر، مذكراً بما رواه عبدالله بن عمر – رضي الله عنهما- قال: (فرض رسول الله صل الله عليه وسلم زكاة الفطر، صاعاً من تمر أو صاعاً من شعير، على العبد والحر، والذكر والأنثى، والصغير والكبير من المسلمين).

وأوضح الكواري أن الحكمة من مشروعية هذه الزكاة، يتمثل بما رواه ابن عباس – رضي الله عنهما – أنه قال: (فرض رسول الله صل الله عليه وسلم زكاة الفطر طهرة للصائم من اللغو والرفث، وطعمة للمساكين).

وحثّ مدير إدارة شؤون الزكاة أفراد المجتمع على الإسراع في إخراجها لإدارة شؤون الزكاة، الجهة الرسمية الحكومية المختصة بجمع الزكاة في دولة قطر، لتتمكن من إيصالها لمستحقيها الفعليين داخل قطر قبل صلاة عيد الفطر، مبيناً أنه يمكن للراغبين بإخراج زكاة الفطر من إخراج زكاتهم عبر مكاتب ونقاط التحصيل التابعة لإدارة شؤون الزكاة، والمنتشرة في أنحاء البلاد أو من خلال موقع الإدارة على الانترنت.
