MCIT, Microsoft Launch OpenAI GPT to Empower Government Innovation

Doha: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and Microsoft have activated OpenAI GPT technology in the Azure Qatar Cloud, offering government entities access to the most advanced AI models in the world to innovate and create cutting-edge applications.
The launch of the OpenAI GPT feature comes in line with MCITs efforts to enable government entities with the latest technologies and support their digital transformation journey, as large-scale AI models are quickly becoming an essential platform to find creative, innovative solutions for the issues and challenges faced by institutions. In line with the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, the Qatar e-Government Portal “Hukoomi” will be among the first portals in the region to adopt OpenAI GPT capabilities through Azure Qatar, to improve the user experience, deliver unprecedented levels of efficiency and speed, and raise the quality and performance of the Portal.
Commenting on the announcement, an official source at MCIT said: “Qatar always strives to contribute to the development of the technology world from artificial intelligence and machine learning to the Internet of Things. It provides all the needs of various sectors through incubators and accelerators in the country.
MCIT is keen to adopt and benefit from the latest modern technologies to contribute to the creation of a knowledge-based digital economy.” The spokesperson of Microsoft Qatar said: “By extending OpenAI GPT capabilities as part of Azure Qatar offering, we are enabling government entities to fast-track innovation while maximizing their existing technology investments. This comes as part of our commitment to bring the best-in-class technologies to Qatar in support of the governments ambitions to accelerate the countrys digital transformation and cloud adoption.”

الدوحة: أعلنت وزارة الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات عن إطلاق تقنية حديثة تتيح للجهات الحكومية استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي لابتكار وتطوير تطبيقات نوعية، وذلك بالشراكة مع شركة مايكروسوفت.
وذكرت الوزارة أنها أطلقت خاصية تقنية OpenAI GPT وتوفيرها سحابة /أزور – قطر/ (Azure Qatar Cloud)، مما يتيح للجهات الحكومية استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي لابتكار وتطوير تطبيقات نوعية.
ويأتي إطلاق هذه الخاصية تماشيا مع جهود الوزارة لتمكين الجهات الحكومية بأحدث التقنيات، ودعم مسيرة التحول الرقمي بها، حيث أصبح استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي عنصرا أساسيا لإيجاد حلول إبداعية ومبتكرة للمعضلات والتحديات التي تواجهها المؤسسات.
وتماشيا مع الاستراتيجية الوطنية للذكاء الاصطناعي، ستكون بوابة حكومة قطر الإلكترونية “حكومي” من أولى البوابات في المنطقة التي تتبنى تقنية OpenAI GPT عبر سحابة /أزور – قطر/ لتحسين تجربة المستخدم، فضلا عن تقديم مستويات غير مسبوقة من الكفاءة والسرعة، ورفع جودة وأداء البوابة.
وأكدت وزارة الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات، في بيان صحفي، حرص دولة قطر على المساهمة في تطوير عالم التكنولوجيا من الذكاء الاصطناعي والتعلم الآلي إلى إنترنت الأشياء، وتوفير جميع الاحتياجات لمختلف القطاعات عن طريق الحاضنات والمسرعات في الدولة، مع تبني الوزارة أحدث التقنيات الحديثة والاستفادة منها، للمساهمة في خلق اقتصاد رقمي مبني على المعرفة.
من جهتها، أوضحت شركة مايكروسوفت قطر أنه من خلال التوسع في إمكاناتOpenAI GPT عن طريق سحابة /أزور – قطر/، ستتمكن الجهات الحكومية من تسريع وتيرة الابتكار في القطاع الإلكتروني، حيث يأتي ذلك في إطار التزامها بجلب أفضل التقنيات المتاحة إلى دولة قطر، دعما لمبادرات الحكومة في تسريع التحول الرقمي، واعتماد الشبكات السحابية في الدولة.
