MoTC awareness session on Oracle software products

Doha: The Ministry of Transport and Communications has hosted several government entities at an awareness session on installing, upgrading and licencing Oracle software and products.
The technical event was attended by at least 50 specialists and senior staff from multiple government entities. It tackled the different techniques of how to license Oracle products and software on top of different infrastructure and virtualized environments and clouds.
Participants also learnt about Oracle licencing measurement tools and using them to evaluate Oracle Install Base at work environment. With technology now indivisible from business strategy, the workshop also investigated the importance of ensuring every effort is taken to improve the use of IT resources, reduce cost and risk, and put in place the capabilities to overcome any disruption.
The session is the first of its kind that Oracle LMS has conducted in the Middle East. It will be followed by site visits for one-on-one meetings and discussions with some government entities to understand their needs and resolve their licensing challenges.
في إطار رفع الوعي في الجهات الحكومية وتبادل الخبرات حول أفضل الممارسات، نظمت وزارة المواصلات والاتصالات لقاءً تعريفيًا حول تثبيت واستخدام وترقية تراخيص برمجيات ومنتجات أوراكل، والاستفادة منها على الوجه الأكمل.
حضر الدورة التدريبية نحو 50 مشاركًا متخصصًا من عدة جهاتٍ حكومية؛ حيث تعرفوا على كيفية ترخيص منتجات وبرمجيات أوراكل بطرقٍ متعددة، وبشكلٍ صحيح، وكيف ينعكس ذلك على كفاءة الأداء، وخفض التكاليف. كما تعرف المشاركون على أدوات ووسائل قياس تراخيص منتجات وبرمجيات أوراكل، وكيفية الاستعانة بها في تقييم وتحديد قاعدة تثبيت برمجيات أوراكل في بيئة العمل.
هذا اللقاء التعريفي هو الأول من نوعه الذي ينظمه الفريق المعني بإدارة تراخيص أوراكل (Oracle License Management Services) في منطقة الشرق الأوسط والذي يضم مجموعة من الخبراء والاستشاريين في هذا المجال.
ومن المقرر أن يعقب هذا اللقاء التعريفي سلسلة من الزيارات الميدانية لبعض الجهات والمؤسسات الحكومية لعقد لقاءاتٍ ومناقشاتٍ وجهًا لوجه بهدف الوقوف على احتياجات تلك الجهات، ومعالجة التحديات التي تواجهها فيما يتعلق بتراخيص برمجيات أوراكل، فضلا عن تقديم النصائح والإرشادات من نخبةٍ من الخبراء حول كيفية ترقية وتعزيز أداء تراخيص برمجيات الشركة لضمان أقصى قدر من التوفير والاستفادة من الاستثمارات الخاصة بهذه التراخيص في بيئات عملهم.
