Qatari-Bahraini Meeting Setting Mutual Talks’ Mechanism and Procedures

Riyadh: A meeting between the delegations of the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Bahrain was held at the headquarters of the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Tuesday.
The State of Qatar’s delegation at the meeting was chaired by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, whereas the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation was headed by HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
The meeting dealt with developing the necessary mechanisms and procedures to set the course for talks at the level of bilateral committees, in accordance with the Al Ula statement issued by the Al Ula Summit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on January 5, 2021, in order to end the pending special files between them.
The two sides also stressed the importance of working together and cooperating between the two sisterly countries in a way that enhances their fraternal relations, achieves the aspirations of their peoples for security, stability and development, and supports GCC joint action.

الرياض: عقد في مقر الأمانة العامة لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية، يوم أمس، اجتماع بين وفدين من دولة قطر ومملكة البحرين.
ترأس وفد دولة قطر في الاجتماع، سعادة الشيخ محمد بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني، نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية فيما ترأس وفد مملكة البحرين سعادة الدكتور عبداللطيف بن راشد الزياني، وزير الخارجية.
وتناول الاجتماع، وضع الآليات والإجراءات اللازمة لإطلاق مسار المباحثات على مستوى اللجان الثنائية وفقاً لما تضمنه بيان العلا الصادر عن قمة العلا بالمملكة العربية السعودية في الخامس من يناير 2021 ، لإنهاء الملفات الخاصة المعلقة بينهما.
كما أكد الجانبان على أهمية العمل والتعاون بين البلدين الشقيقين بما يعزز العلاقات الأخوية ويحقق تطلعات شعبيهما في الأمن والاستقرار والتنمية، ويدعم مسيرة العمل المشترك لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية.
