Qatar Participates in 2nd Municipal Investment Forum “FURAS” in Riyadh

Doha: The State of Qatar participated in the 2nd edition of the Municipal Investment Forum “FURAS” that was organized by the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, during the period from Jan. 24-26.
HE Minister of Municipality Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie headed the State of Qatar’s delegation to the forum.
As a guest of the forum, the State of Qatar discussed its successful experience in organizing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament, including the role of the private sector and investment opportunities in developing the cities, infrastructure and the quality of the life of population, as well as the distinguished participation of the Ministry of Municipality, along with various entities in the state of Qatar which contributed to the success of the events of the historic tournament.
The distinguished pavilion of Qatar in the exhibition accompanying the forum, showcased models of the Qatari successful experiences in hosting world cup tournament, including the distinguished municipal services and infrastructures that were provided during the tournament events.
The pavilion narrates the entire story of success, from the moment Qatar won the bid to host the world cup tournament, until laying out Qatar’s national vision 2030, where world cup projects were set among the prioritizing goals to be carried out in the service of the hosting file.
In addition, the pavilion featured the models of the eight stadiums that hosted the tournament games, along with the entities that had a major role in the successful organization of the tournament, and investment opportunities that were provided to the private sector during the tournament, such as projects of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).
The pavilion also highlighted the role of the Ministry of Municipality during the world cup tournament, specially in the area of public service sector and recycling of waste generated from tournament sites, where Qatar made unparalleled achievement in the history of world cup tournaments, through recycling and treating all waste and converting them into energy.
Meanwhile, Qatar Rail showcased a model for rail, including an augmented reality glass for the experience of using the Metro, while the story of Qatar’s successful tournament was concluded by narrating the coronation moment at the closing ceremony of the tournament that coincided with the anniversary of the National Day of the State of Qatar.
The pavilion offered the opportunity for the visitors at the forum to capture souvenir photos through the Bisht on the coronation podium.
The FURAS was intended to review successful global experiences in the field of investment in the municipal and government sectors, and the forum featured panel discussions, along with professional workshops with the engagement of an elite of speakers which addressed the role of municipal investments in the development of cities.

الدوحة: شاركت دولة قطر في ملتقى الاستثمار البلدي “فرص” بنسخته الثانية، والذي نظمته وزارة الشؤون البلدية والقروية والإسكان بمدينة الرياض بالمملكة العربية السعودية، خلال الفترة من 24 إلى 26 يناير الجاري.

وجاءت مشاركة دولة قطر باعتبارها ضيف الملتقى، حيث استعرضت تجربتها الناجحة في تنظيم بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، ودور القطاع الخاص والفرص الاستثمارية في تطوير المدن والبنية التحتية وجودة حياة السكان والمشاركة المتميزة لوزارة البلدية ومختلف الجهات بالدولة في إنجاح فعاليات المونديال التاريخي.
وعرض الجناح المميز الذي شاركت به قطر بالمعرض المصاحب لملتقى الاستثمار البلدي “فرص”، نماذج من التجربة القطرية الناجحة في استضافة بطولة كأس العالم، وما تم تقديمه من خدمات بلدية متميزة وبُنى تحتية خلال فعاليات البطولة.
ويحكي الجناح القصة الكاملة للنجاح منذ لحظة فوز دولة قطر باستضافة بطولة كأس العالم والرؤية الوطنية للدولة 2030، حيث تم وضع مشاريع كأس العالم من الأهداف ذات الأولوية لتنفيذها لخدمة ملف الاستضافة، كما تضمن بالجناح عرض مجسمات الملاعب المونديالية الثمانية التي استضافت مباريات البطولة، وايضا الجهات التي ساهمت بدور رئيسي في تنظيم البطولة وإنجاحها، وأيضا الفرص الاستثمارية التي أتيحت للقطاع الخاص خلال المونديال كمشاريع هيئة الاشغال العامة.
وسلَّط جناح قطر الضوء على دور وزارة البلدية خلال بطولة كأس العالم وبخاصة في مجال قطاع الخدمات العامة وإعادة تدوير النفايات الناتجة عن البطولة، حيث حققت قطر إنجازا لم يسبق له مثيل في تاريخ بطولات كأس العالم، من خلال إعادة تدوير ومعالجة جميع المخلفات وتحويلها إلى طاقة، كما عرضت شركة سكك الحديد القطرية (الريل) بالجناح مجسما للريل ونظارة تفاعلية لتجربة استخدام المترو، وتم اختتام قصة نجاح مونديال قطر بإعادة سرد لحظة التتويج في الحفل الختامي للبطولة، والذي وافق ذكرى اليوم الوطني لدولة قطر، حيث تم تخصيص منصة تتويج وعرض البشت القطري وكرة القدم بالمباراة الختامية، وتم إتاحة الفرصة لجمهور الزائرين للجناح القطري بملتقى الاستثمار البلدي (فرص) لالتقاط الصور التذكارية بالبشت فوق منصة التتويج.
يهدف ملتقى الاستثمار البلدي الذي عُقد تحت شعار “الاستثمار في مدننا .. بين يديك”، إلى استعراض تجارب عالمية ناجحة في مجال الاستثمار في القطاع البلدي والحكومي، كما تضمن الملتقى جلسات حوارية وورش عمل متخصصة بمشاركة نخبة من المتحدثين في دور الاستثمارات البلدية في تنمية المدن.
