NHRC Office at HIA Supports World Cup Human Rights Experience

Doha: The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) continues to educate fans coming for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 about their rights and duties through its office at Hamad International Airport (HIA), as well as providing them with the necessary support in terms of legal advice and other such services.
NHRC stated in a statement today that NHRC’s airport office staff, alongside a delegation of volunteers from the Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC), continue to receive masses, and distribute hundreds of publications to raising awareness of human rights, in the Arabic, English and Spanish languages, to introduce the office’s most important services and legal advice hotlines provided to the World Cup audience.
Passengers at the Arrivals and Departures can benefit from the automated system to communicate with NHRC legal experts around the clock, where passengers can enter their data into the system, which is available in four main languages, at the NHRC airport office for any inquiries or filing complaints if necessary.
The office is considered one of the most important fruits of the Agreement of Understanding concluded between NHRC and the Qatar Company for Airports Operation and Management (MATAR), to support cooperation and the strengthening of the partnership between the two parties, to spread the culture of human rights, and to exchange the expertise and capabilities, employing them to promote and protect human rights within the framework of each party’s competences.
Officer in Charge (OIC) of the NHRC office at HIA Hadi Mubarak Al Khayarin said that the office aims to raise awareness of the culture of human rights, and to confront any possible violations that may occur to travelers, stressing that the office will continue to operate beyond the World Cup, serving all passengers traveling through HIA, Qatar’s main and largest airport.
Al Khayarin added that educating passengers about their rights and duties enhances their sense of safety and comfort, as well as strengthens their rights, and spreads the culture of respect for otherness, which is how NHRC seeks to improve the World Cup experience and to set as a model for future editions. This is so, given that Qatar has succeeded in developing unique events, platforms, and innovative methods that were unparalleled in previous World Cup editions, with such examples as the national forum on Human Rights, the NHRC office at HIA, in addition to the International Consular Services Centre, which supports international fans visiting for the World Cup.
OIC of the NHRC office at HIA highlighted its well-trained staff’s, which reflects NHRC’s keenness to promote the right of expression and of cheering, along with other fan rights during the tournament.
Al Khayarin noted the office’s comprehensive team, working alongside the OHRC volunteer delegation, within the framework of contributing positively to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and enriching the human rights experience of the World Cup, through the exchange of experience.
He also stressed the fact that visiting delegations’ have praised the entry preparations for the masses and the ground staff’s welcoming, reflecting Qatar’s preparations and the distinguished coordination between its relevant authorities, including the NHRC, MATAR, and law enforcement agencies in the country.

الدوحة: تواصل اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان توعية القادمين من جماهير بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، بحقوقهم وواجباتهم من خلال مكتبها في مطار حمد الدولي، وتقديم الدعم اللازم من استشارات قانونية وغيرها.
وأفادت اللجنة في بيان لها اليوم، بأن العاملين بمكتب اللجنة من موظفيها إلى جانب وفد من المتطوعين من اللجنة العمانية لحقوق الإنسان، يواصلون استقبال الجماهير، ويوزعون مئات المطبوعات للتوعية بحقوق الإنسان تتضمن اللغات العربية والإنجليزية والإسبانية، للتعريف بأهم الخدمات التي يقدمها المكتب لجمهور المونديال وأرقام للخطوط الساخنة للاستشارات القانونية.
ويمكن للقادمين أو المغادرين الاستفادة من النظام الآلي للتواصل مع الخبراء القانونيين للجنة على مدار 24 ساعة، حيث يمكنهم إدخال بياناتهم على المكينة الآلية، المتوفرة بأربعة لغات رئيسية، بمكتب اللجنة الوطنية بالمطار للحصول على أية استفسارات، أو تقديم شكاوى إذا لزم الأمر.
ويعتبر المكتب أحد أهم النتائج المترتبة على اتفاقية التفاهم التي أبرمتها اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان مع الشركة القطرية لإدارة وتشغيل المطارات، بهدف دعم التعاون وتعزيز الشراكة بين الطرفين، في نشر ثقافة حقوق الإنسان، والاستفادة من الخبرات والإمكانيات المتوفرة لديهما، وتوظيفها لتعزيز وحماية حقوق الإنسان في إطار اختصاصات كل من الطرفين.
وقال السيد هادي مبارك الخيارين مسؤول مكتب اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان بمطار حمد الدولي”إن المكتب يهدف إلى التوعية بثقافة حقوق الإنسان، ومواجهة أي انتهاكات محتملة يمكن أن تحدث للمسافرين”، مؤكدا أنه سيستمر لما بعد كأس العالم لخدمة جميع المسافرين والقادمين عبر مطار حمد الذي يعد منفذ السفر الأكبر في الدولة.
وأضاف أن توعية الجماهير القادمين عبر البوابة الأولى والرئيسية للدولة يعزز شعور الجماهير بالطمأنينة والأمان، ويعزز حقوقهم، ويسهم في احترام ثقافة الآخر، وهو ما تسعى له اللجنة لتعزيز التجربة المونديالية وجعلها نموذجا يحتذى به في النسخ القادمة، لا سيما وأن قطر نجحت في استحداث فعاليات ومنصات وأساليب فريدة ومبتكرة لم يكن لها مثيل في النسخ السابقة من كأس العالم كالمنتدى الوطني لحقوق الإنسان، ومكتب المطار، بالإضافة إلى مركز الخدمات القنصلية لدعم المشجعين القادمين من جميع أنحاء العالم.
وأكد أن المستوى العالي لتدريب موظفي مكتب المطار، يعكس حرص اللجنة على تعزيز حقوق التعبير والتشجيع وغيرها من الحقوق لحماية المشجعين خلال المونديال.
ونوه الخيارين بتكامل فريق العمل لمكتب اللجنة، بمشاركة وفد المتطوعين من اللجنة العمانية لحقوق الإنسان، مضيفاً أن وفد اللجنة العمانية لحقوق الإنسان يعمل جنبا إلى جنب مع اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان في إطار المساهمة الإيجابية في بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، وإثراء التجربة الحقوقية في المونديال، عبر تبادل الخبرات.
وأكد أن معظم الوفود القادمة أبدت سعادتها بتنظيم دخول الجماهير، وترحيب موظفي المطار، ما يعكس استعدادات الدولة والتنسيق المتميز بين الجهات ذات الصلة ومنها اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان والشركة القطرية لإدارة وتشغيل المطارات، وجهات إنفاذ القانون بالدولة .
