Store discounts for retirees and people with special needs are fake

Doha: A number of retirees and people with special needs confirmed that the offers and discounts for them announced by some parties and shops are not real, pointing out that some stores seek to attract certain categories of consumers, by promoting offers focused on “showing” and selling illusion, they claim

to allocate specific prices and discounts to these groups with cards explaining their situation, whether they are people with special needs or retired people, as they naturally go to those shops or those who advertise discounts to them, only to find that they are mere illusions that have no reality on the ground, and to find out that they are not included in the discounts advertised on websites, social media and local media, disregarding the initiatives launched.

Retirees and people with special needs said in a survey conducted by “Al-Sharq”: They are in constant embarrassment after going to those shops to take advantage of the discounts allocated to them as announced, to discover that they do not include them and are only fake advertisements aimed at attracting consumers to stimulate the purchasing movement in any way even if they are not real,

However, there are a specific number of entities and shops that are committed to applying advertised discounts for people with special needs and pensioners.

They called on the relevant authorities in the State to monitor advertisements with entities and shops that claim to allocate discounts to the people with special needs and pensioners, and to oblige them to all the discounts announced and allocate them to this category.

الدوحة: أكد عدد من المتقاعدين وذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة أن العروض والخصومات الخاصة لهم والتي تعلن عنها بعض الجهات والمحال التجارية ليست حقيقية، لافتين إلى أن بعض المحال تسعى إلى جذب فئات معينة من المستهلكين، بالترويج لعروض تركز على “الشو” وبيع الوهم، حيث إنها تدعي تخصيص أسعار محددة وتنزيلات وخصومات لهذه الفئات التي تحمل بطاقات توضح حالاتهم، سواء كانوا من ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة، أو ممن أحيلوا للتقاعد، إذ إنهم بطبيعة الحال يتجهون إلى تلك المحال أو الجهات التي تعلن عن خصومات لهم، ليجدوا أنها مجرد أوهام لا حقيقة لها على أرض الواقع، ليتفاجأوا بأن التخفيضات التي يعلنون عنها عبر مواقعهم وعلى وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي والإعلام المحلي لا تشملهم، ضاربة بالمبادرات التي تطلقها عرض الحائط.

وقال متقاعدون وذوو احتياجات خاصة في استطلاع أجرته معهم “الشرق”: إنهم يقعون في حرج مستمر بعد توجههم إلى تلك المحال التجارية للاستفادة من الخصومات المخصصة لهم بحسب ما يُعلن عنه، ليكتشفوا أنها لا تشملهم وما هي إلا إعلانات وهمية هدفها جذب المستهلكين لتنشيط الحركة الشرائية بأي طريقة حتى ولو كانت غير حقيقية، موضحين أنه رغم ذلك إلا أن هناك عددا محددا من الجهات والمحلات التجارية التي تلتزم بتطبيق الخصومات المعلن عنها بالنسبة للمعاقين والمتقاعدين.

وطالبوا الجهات المعنية في الدولة، بمراقبة الإعلانات لدى الجهات والمحلات التي تدعي أنها تخصص خصومات للمعاقين والمتقاعدين، وإلزامهم بكل ما يتم الإعلان عنه من خصومات وتخصيصها لهذه الفئة.
