HH the Amir Performs Istisqa Prayer

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani performed the Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayer along with crowds of worshipers at Al-Wajba prayer ground on Thursday morning, in revival of the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him), praying to Allah the Almighty for rainfall.
HH Personal Representative of HH the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al-Thani and HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al-Thani took part in the prayer.
HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and Ministers along with citizens also joined the prayer.
In a sermon after the prayer, the Judge at the Court of Cassation and Member of the Judicial Supreme Council Sheikh Dr. Thaqeel Sayer Al Shammari, who led the prayer, urged the worshippers to ask Allah the Almighty for forgiveness and for rainfall.
Dr. Al Shammari also urged people to give alms, which are one of the reasons for rainfall.

الدوحة: أدى حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، صباح اليوم، صلاة الاستسقاء مع جموع المصلين بمصلى الوجبة، إحياء لسنة الرسول الكريم محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، وطلبا لنزول الغيث.
وأدى الصلاة أيضا سمو الشيخ جاسم بن حمد آل ثاني الممثل الشخصي للأمير، وسمو الشيخ عبدالله بن خليفة آل ثاني، وسعادة الشيخ جاسم بن خليفة آل ثاني.
كما أدَّى الصلاة سعادة السيد حسن بن عبدالله الغانم رئيس مجلس الشورى وعدد من أصحاب السعادة الشيوخ والوزراء والسادة المواطنين.
وقد حثَّ فضيلة الشيخ الدكتور ثقيل ساير الشمري القاضي بمحكمة التمييز عضو المجلس الأعلى للقضاء الذي أم المصلين في خطبة ألقاها عقب الصلاة على الافتقار إلى الله والتضرع له في سقي البلاد والعباد، وطلب المغفرة والستر منه سبحانه، كما حث فضيلته على الإكثار من الصدقات والإنفاق والاستغفار وتقوى الله لأنها من أسباب نزول الغيث، مبينا أهمية صلاة الاستسقاء وما يظهر فيها المسلمون من الخشوع والإنابة والانكسار لخالقهم.
