ATVs; a moving danger on the streets

Doha: A number of drivers have called on stakeholders to tighten controls to prevent young people from driving ATVs on main streets to reduce the risks of driving them on paved roads for children and road users, calling for tighter control from stakeholders to curb these behaviors, which have become significantly repeated in recent TIMES.

They stressed that the reason for the spread of this phenomenon is due to parents who allow their young children to ride ATVs not intended for the paved streets, and called on the concerned authorities to intensify awareness campaigns that highlight the danger of driving this type of ATVs in places dedicated to vehicles, through various media and social networking.

Al-Raya lens spotted a teenager driving his ATV on Al-Maadeed Street, where he did not take into account the dangers he could face on the road while driving this type of bike, especially since he was driving at high speed that threatened his life and the lives of others.

الدوحة: طالب عددٌ من السائقين الجهات المعنية بتشديد الرقابة لمنع صغار السنّ من قيادة الدراجات النارية المخصصة للرمال في الشوارع الرئيسية، للحد من المخاطر المترتبة على قيادتها في الطرق الممهدة على حياة الأطفال ومستخدمي الطريق، داعين بتشديد الرقابة من الجهات المعنية للحد من هذه التصرفات التي أصبحت تتكرر بشكل ملحوظ في الآونة الأخيرة.

وأكدوا أن السبب وراء انتشار هذه الظاهرة يعود إلى أولياء الأمور الذين يسمحون لأبنائهم الصغار بركوب الدراجات النارية غير المخصصة للسير في الشوارع الممهدة، مطالبين الجهات المعنية بتكثيف الحملات التوعوية التي تبرز مدى خطورة قيادة هذا النوع من الدراجات في الأماكن المخصصة للمركبات، وذلك عبر وسائل الإعلام المختلفة والتواصل الاجتماعي.

عدسة الراية رصدت أحد المراهقين وهو يقود دراجته النارية المخصصة للقيادة في الرمال بشارع المعاضيد، حيث لم يراعِ هذا الفتى المخاطر التي يمكن أن يواجهها في الطريق أثناء قيادته هذا النوع من الدراجات، لا سيما أنه كان يقود بسرعة عالية تهدد حياته وحياة الآخرين.
