Doha: The Peninsula English newspaper said in its editorial on Monday that the State of Qatar’s hosting of a number of major football matches, most notably the historic FIFA Arab Cup 2021 that will bring the Arab world together in Qatar for almost three weeks.
The first-ever edition of the competition is seen as a precursor for the big show the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the paper said.
The newspaper underlined that the high-profile tournament will kick off on November 30 with the opening match between hosts Qatar and Bahrain at the brand new Al Bayt Stadium, a FIFA World Cup venue, to be inaugurated along with Ras Abu Aboud Stadium during the event.
The newspaper pointed out that the FIFA Arab Cup will see 16 teams from around the Arab world in action, adding that the event will give fans a glimpse of what to expect when Qatar hosts the World Cup one year later.
The paper stressed that the Arab Cup matches will surely produce thrilling matches, which will be a treat for all the fans, with the approach of hosting the first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East and Arab world in 2022, noting that the State of Qatar has a rich history of hosting world class events with success and with their vast experience.
In conclusion, The Peninsula expressed hope that Qatar will organize major football tournaments in a way that will remain in the memory for a long time.

الدوحة: نوهت صحيفة /البننسولا/ الناطقة باللغة الإنجليزية في افتتاحيتها اليوم، باستضافة دولة قطر لعدد من المباريات الكروية الكبرى أبرزها استضافة نهائيات كأس العرب 2021 التي ستجمع العالم العربي في قطر لمدة ثلاثة أسابيع، مشيرة إلى أن استضافة هذه المباريات تساهم في رفع استعدادات الدولة لاستضافة كأس العالم لكرة القدم العام المقبل.

وأكدت على أن بطولة كأس العرب لكرة القدم ستضفي أجواء من الإثارة في جميع أنحاء المنطقة، مع اقتراب استضافة أول بطولة لكأس العالم لكرة القدم في الشرق الأوسط والعالم العربي في عام 2022.. مشيرة إلى أن دولة قطر تتمتع بتاريخ غني في استضافة الأحداث ذات المستوى العالمي بنجاح وخبرة واسعة.
