QRCS To Bring New Batch of Amiri Medical Scholarship Doctors to Qatar

Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Societys (QRCS) said that ten Palestinian doctors from the West Bank and Gaza are preparing to travel to Qatar to pursue their medical specializations, after signing the contracts to receive medical education scholarships under the Amiri Scholarship Program for Palestinian Physicians.

QRCS said in a statement released today that the scholarship emphasized the organizations focus on building the capacity of specialized health professionals in Palestine and addressing the lack of well-trained professionals, adding that many scholarship graduates have introduced new services that helped improve the health services provided for patients.

Dr. Nasser Abo Shaban, member of the project’s advisory committee in Gaza, advised the doctors to strengthen their medical skills during the scholarship period, capitalizing on their accumulated experience when back to work at their hospitals, to serve the patients and enrich the health sector with new expertise. He urged the doctors to be good ambassadors for Palestine during their stay in Qatar, setting a good example for their fellow doctors.

With the new batch, the total number of Palestinian doctors who have benefited from the Amiri Scholarship Program since its inception in 2003 will be 91.

الدوحة: قال الهلال الأحمر القطري إن 10 أطباء فلسطينيين من الضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة سيستكملون دراسة تخصصاتهم الطبية بدولة قطر، بعد توقيعهم على عقود الاستفادة من مشروع “منح سمو الأمير للدراسات الطبية التخصصية العليا لأطباء فلسطين بدولة قطر”.

وأوضح الهلال، في بيان، أن ابتعاث هؤلاء الأطباء يأتي في إطار حرصه على بناء قدرات الكوادر الصحية التخصصية في فلسطين، والعمل على تخفيف معاناة القطاع الصحي من نقص الكوادر البشرية المدربة، لافتا إلى أن عددا من الأطباء العائدين من المجموعات المبتعثة سابقا نجحوا في تقديم خدمات جديدة ساهمت في تحسين تلك المقدمة منها للمرضى.

بدوره، نصح الدكتور ناصر أبو شعبان، عضو اللجنة الاستشارية للمشروع عن قطاع غزة، الأطباء المبتعثين بضرورة التركيز على تطوير مهاراتهم الطبية خلال فترة الدراسة، للاستفادة من خبراتهم المتراكمة بعد عودتهم للعمل في مستشفيات الوطن، لخدمة المرضى ورفد القطاع الصحي بخبرات جديدة، داعيا إياهم إلى الحرص على أن يكونوا بمثابة سفراء لبلدهم فلسطين أثناء تواجدهم في دولة قطر، وأن يكونوا قدوة للآخرين.

جدير بالذكر أنه مع وصول هذه الدفعة وهي الحادية عشرة ضمن المشروع، يكون إجمالي عدد الأطباء الفلسطينيين المستفيدين من مشروع المنح الطبية الأميرية منذ انطلاقه عام 2003 قد وصل إلى 91 طبيبا وطبيبة موزعين ما بين الضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة.
