Qatar Signs Operational Agreement Activating Doha FIR with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE

Doha: The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) signed Wednesday the operational agreement with each of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, for activating the Doha Flight Information Region (FIR) and connecting it with FIRs of these countries.

The agreements mean that all the stakeholders for the activation of the Doha FIRs operational processes, which will begin this September 8, are now complete. The State of Qatar signed last April a similar agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran and signing these This comes in the context of executing the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Councils historic decision, made during the Councils 10th meeting in its 225th Session held last March, on to establish a Doha FIR, after more than five years of deliberations.

Since that decision was made, Qatar has over the past period been in communication with stakeholders in all countries and held several meetings with neighboring countries for coordination purposes to enhance cooperation and end up with activating a Doha FIR by signing bilateral agreements to regulate operational processes and connect the Doha FIR with its counterparts in these countries.

HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti praised the efforts made by all parties toward signing these agreements, asserting that Qatar is ready for the Doha FIR activation, in addition to adding new air routes and increasing the capacity of both the aircraft holding area and search and rescue area in line with the Doha FIRs new dimensions, thus keeping pace with the development and achievements that Qatars civil aviation undergoes.

His Excellency added that Qatars civil aviation industry has significantly progressed in terms of modernizing its air navigation systems in step with latest universal specifications, thus fulfilling the countrys air traffic requirements and showcasing an outstanding level of services.

His Excellency asserted that Qatar and brotherly and friendly neighboring countries have the best world aviation systems.

الدوحة: وقعت الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني، يوم أمس، على الاتفاقيات التشغيلية لتفعيل إقليم الدوحة لمعلومات الطيران مع كل من المملكة العربية السعودية ومملكة البحرين ودولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وذلك لربط إقليم الدوحة مع أقاليم معلومات الطيران في تلك الدول.

وبتوقيع الاتفاقيات يكون قد اكتمل جميع أصحاب المصلحة لتفعيل العمليات التشغيلية لإقليم الدوحة لمعلومات الطيران والمقرر أن تبدأ في الثامن من سبتمبر المقبل.

وكانت دولة قطر وقعت في شهر إبريل الماضي اتفاقية مماثلة مع الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية.

يأتي ذلك تنفيذا لقرار مجلس منظمة الطيران المدني الدولي (إيكاو) بالموافقة على البدء في إنشاء إقليم الدوحة لمعلومات الطيران، والذي صدر خلال الاجتماع العاشر لمجلس المنظمة في دورته 225 التي عقدت في شهر مارس الماضي، وذلك بعد مداولات استمرت أكثر من خمسة أعوام.

ومنذ صدور القرار، بدأت دولة قطر في التواصل مع أصحاب المصلحة في كافة الدول وعقدت على مدار الفترة الماضية عدة اجتماعات مع دول الجوار، بهدف التنسيق معها لتعزيز التعاون والوصول إلى تفعيل إقليم الدوحة لمعلومات الطيران من خلال توقيع اتفاقيات ثنائية تنظم العمليات التشغيلية وتربط إقليم الدوحة مع أقاليم معلومات الطيران في تلك الدول.

وأشاد سعادة السيد جاسم بن سيف السليطي وزير المواصلات بالجهود التي بذلتها كافة الأطراف للوصول إلى توقيع هذه الاتفاقيات، مؤكدا جاهزية دولة قطر لتفعيل إقليم الدوحة لمعلومات الطيران، إلى جانب إضافة مسارات جوية جديدة، وزيادة الطاقة الاستيعابية لمنطقة انتظار الطائرات في الجو، إضافة إلى زيادة مساحة البحث والإنقاذ وفقا للأبعاد الجديدة للإقليم، بما يواكب التطور والإنجازات الكبيرة التي شهدها قطاع الطيران المدني في دولة قطر.

وأضاف سعادته أن قطاع الطيران المدني في دولة قطر قطع أشواطا متقدمة في تطوير الأنظمة المستخدمة في الملاحة الجوية وفقا لأحدث المواصفات العالمية، بما يواكب استيعاب متطلبات الحركة الجوية الكبيرة في المجال الجوي للدولة ويؤكد بذات الوقت على الصورة المتميزة لمستوى الخدمات في الدولة، مؤكدا سعادته أن دولة قطر ودول الجوار الشقيقة والصديقة تمتلك أفضل منظومات الطيران العالمية.
