QC Sends Relief Supplies for Flood Victims in Pakistan

Doha: Qatar Charity distributed urgent relief assistance to Afghan refugees and the host community of flood-affected people in the Balochistan province of Pakistan, in cooperation with the Pakistani Regional Disaster Management Authority with more than 9.000 people from Afghan refugees and the host community benefiting from this assistance.

The relief aid, including food and non-food items, comes as part of Qatar Charity’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the floods and meet their basic needs in light of their difficult living conditions .

Qatar Charity distributed 75 tents with their supplies to the affected families in the Nushki area of Balochistan, and about 525 people benefited from shelter assistance.

Food baskets were also distributed to 1,275 families of Afghan refugees and host communities in the areas of Nushki and Qila Saifullah in Baluchistan, where the two areas witness a large influx of Afghan refugees; because they are located on the Pakistani-Afghan border. The baskets included basic foodstuffs, which benefited about 9,000 Afghan refugees.

Teams of Qatar Charity in Pakistan were able to deliver aid to those affected by floods in remote areas and villages that are difficult to reach.

Deputy Commissioner of Nushki district Khurram Khalid Baloch commented that they asked Qatar Charity to provide relief assistance in the village, which was severely damaged by the floods, stressing that Qatar Charity distributed relief aid in coordination with government agencies in the region, which was in urgent need of food and shelter assistance.

الدوحة: أعلنت /قطر الخيرية/ توزيعها مساعدات إغاثية عاجلة على اللاجئين الأفغان والمجتمع المضيف من متضرري الفيضانات في إقليم بلوشستان بباكستان، بالتعاون مع هيئة إدارة الكوارث الإقليمية الباكستانية، حيث استفاد من هذه المساعدات أكثر من 9 الاف شخص من اللاجئين الأفغان والمجتمع المضيف.

وتأتي المساعدات الإغاثية، التي تضمنت مواد غذائية وغير غذائية، ضمن جهود /قطر الخيرية/ لتخفيف معاناة المتضررين من الفيضانات، وتلبية احتياجاتهم الأساسية في ظل وضعهم المعيشي الصعب.

وقامت /قطر الخيرية/ بتوزيع 75 خيمة مع مستلزماتها وأغطيتها على الأسر المتضررة في منطقة /نوشكي/ في بلوشستان، وقد استفاد من مساعدات الإيواء حوالي 525 شخصا.

كما تم توزيع السلال الغذائية على 1275 عائلة من اللاجئين الأفغان والمجتمعات المضيفة في منطقتي /نوشكي/ و/قلعة سيف الله/ ببلوشستان، حيث تشهد المنطقتان تدفقا كبيرا للاجئين الأفغان؛ نظرا لوقوعهما على الحدود الباكستانية الأفغانية. وتضمنت السلال المواد الغذائية الأساسية، حيث استفاد منها حوالي 9 آلاف شخص من اللاجئين الأفغان.

وتمكنت الفرق الميدانية لـ /قطر الخيرية/ في باكستان من توصيل المساعدات إلى المتضررين من الفيضانات في المناطق والقرى النائية التي يصعب الوصول إليها.

وقال السيد خُرّم خالد بلوش نائب مفوض منطقة /نوشكي/: طلبنا من /قطر الخيرية/ تقديم المساعدات الإغاثية في القرية التي تضررت بشدة جراء الفيضانات. ونوه بأن /قطر الخيرية/ وزعت المساعدات الإغاثية بالتنسيق مع الجهات الحكومية بالإقليم، مشيرا إلى أن المنطقة كانت بحاجة إلى المساعدات من الغذاء والإيواء بشكل عاجل.
