QRCS to Serve Railway Customers During FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and RKH Qitarat, the service provider for Doha Metro and Lusail Tram, have signed a cooperation agreement to build a bilateral partnership by using their expertise and resources to promote public safety and dignity towards their shared goals and mission.
In the implementation of this agreement, QRCS will create qualified teams of volunteers and leaders who have past experience in organizing spectators at sports tournaments. They will receive customer service training and be subsequently assessed, so that they become prepared to be deployed 24/7 at Metro/Tram stations to ensure that all the rules of entry, exit, and evacuation (if necessary) are respected by railway customers, be they nationals, residents, tourists, or football fans.
The agreement was signed by the CEO of QRCS, Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi, and Deputy Managing Director of RKH Qitarat Leonard Baldwin.
In her remarks, the Director of Volunteering and Local Development Division at QRCS, Muna Fadel Al Sulaiti, said, “This is the first cooperation between QRCS and RKH Qitarat. Over 22,000 volunteers registered in our database are available to serve the State of Qatar during this important event. We are happy that QRCS and its volunteers are actively contributing to the tournament. I would like to thank RKH Qitarat for their trust in and recruitment of QRCS’s volunteers. We are all here for Qatar. Hopefully, this will not be the last instance of cooperation. We are set to help in whatever area that can make this global sports event a success”.
Baldwin stated, “We believe in QRCS’s leading role in support of the efforts of Qatari organizations participating in major sports events. As Qatar is poised to host FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, we join hands to support the company’s operations at Doha Metro and Lusail Tram networks. No less than 200 well-trained volunteers will lend a hand to serve and guide railway users at Metro and Tram stations throughout the tournament, 21 November to 18 December.”

وبموجب الاتفاقية، سيعمل الهلال الأحمر القطري على تكوين فرق من المتطوعين والقادة المؤهلين ممن لديهم خبرات سابقة في تنظيم جماهير البطولات الرياضية، مع توفير التدريب والتقييم اللازم لهم في مجال خدمة العملاء، ليكونوا على أهبة الاستعداد للتواجد على مدار الساعة في محطات المترو والترام، لضمان التزام مرتادي السكك الحديدية بنظم وقواعد الدخول والخروج والإخلاء (إن لزم الأمر)، سواء من بين المواطنين والمقيمين، أو ضيوف دولة قطر من السائحين وجماهير المنتخبات المشاركة في بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022.
وقع على مذكرة التفاهم من جانب الهلال الأحمر القطري مديره التنفيذي السيد فيصل محمد العمادي، فيما وقعها من جانب الشركة نائب مديرها العام السيد ليونارد بالدوين.
وأوضحت السيدة منى فاضل السليطي، مدير قطاع التطوع والتنمية المحلية بالهلال الأحمر القطري أن هذه المذكرة تعد أول تعاون بين الجانبين، مضيفة القول “نضع أكثر من 22,000 متطوع مسجلين بقاعدة البيانات في خدمة دولة قطر أثناء بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، ونحن سعداء بأن تكون للهلال الأحمر القطري ومتطوعيه مساهمة حقيقية وفاعلة خلال البطولة”.
من جانبه، قال السيد ليونارد بالدوين إن هذه الاتفاقية تؤكد على الدور الريادي الذي يقوم به الهلال الأحمر القطري لدعم جهود مؤسسات الدولة من حيث المشاركة في الأحداث الرياضية الكبرى.
وأضاف “في هذه الفترة التي تستعد فيها دولة قطر لاستضافة بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، فقد تلاقت رغبة الطرفين في دعم أنشطة الشركة بشبكات مترو الدوحة وترام لوسيل، بمساعدة ما لا يقل عن 200 من المتطوعين المدربين لخدمة مستخدمي خدمات السكك الحديدية، وتوجيههم داخل محطات المترو والترام طوال فترة البطولة”.
