STEM summer camp begins at Qatar Scientific Club

DOHA: The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) summer camp organized by Qatar Scientific Club, kicked off yesterday and will run till August 9.

This comes as part of the summer events and activities of the club, with a huge number of participants supervised by elite scientific expertise that have the ability to deal with different levels.

The program includes a variety of activities such as mathematics, sciences, engineering and technology for students aged between 7 to 17. The students are divided into groups, the first group starts from today until July 12, the second group will be held from July 15 to July 26 and the third group will start from July 29 to August 9.

The camp aims to keep the students busy during summer, which will benefit them through an educational method that focuses on the practical side while not forgetting the enjoyable part of the activity.

The camp focuses on learning through practical, digital and computer technology activities. It also aims to enhance inquiry, verification, logical thinking, collaboration and teamwork skills.

Qatar Scientific Club contributes to encouraging education, innovation and research in the science and technology fields. This takes place through workshops such as scientific experiments, robotics, mechanical science, programming, renewable energy, environmental technologies, innovation and astronomy innovators.

انطلقت هنا اليوم فعاليات مخيم “ستيم” stem الصيفي والذي ينظمه النادي العلمي القطري لأول مرة ويستمر حتى 9 أغسطس المقبل بمقره، وذلك ضمن فعاليات وأنشطة النادي الصيفية، وبمشاركة مجموعة كبيرة من المشاركين والمشاركات وإشراف نخبة كبيرة من ذوي الخبرة العلمية والتي لها القدرة على التعامل مع الفئات المختلفة.

وتتضمن فعاليات المخيم برامج متنوعة منها الرياضيات والعلوم والهندسة والتكنولوجيا ويستهدف فئة الطلاب والطالبات من سبع سنوات حتى سبعة عشر سنة ويتم تقسيمهم إلى مجموعات الأولى من اليوم وحتى 12 يوليو والثانية من 15 وحتى 26 يوليو والثالثة في الفترة من 29 يوليو وحتى 9 أغسطس.. ويهدف المخيم لشغل أوقات فراغ الطلاب والطالبات خلال فترة الصيف، بما يعود عليهم بالنفع والفائدة من خلال أسلوب تعليمي يركز على الجانب العملي مع عدم إغفال جانب المتعة والمرح خلال النشاط، وذلك انطلاقا من أهدافه الاستراتيجية التي وضعها لتكون معالم على طريق التخطيط والعمل في النادي العلمي القطري.

ويركز مخيم STEM الصيفي على التعلم من خلال الأنشطة العملية التطبيقية وأنشطة التكنولوجيا الرقمية والكمبيوترية، وأنشطة عملية مبتكرة متنوعة عن طريق الاكتشاف والتحري، وأنشطة التفكير العلمي والمنطقي واتخاذ القرار، ويهدف إلى تعزيز عقلية الاستفسار والتحقق والتفكير المنطقي ومهارات التعاون والعمل كفريق.

الجدير بالذكر أن النادي العلمي القطري يساهم في تشجيع التعلم والابتكار والبحث في مجالات العلوم والتكنولوجيا من خلال ورش وأقسام ومراكز متنوعة منها “التجارب العلمية” و”الروبوتك” و”العلوم الميكانيكية” و”البرمجيات” و”الطاقة المتجددة” و”التقنيات البيئية” و”الصناع والابتكار” و”الفلك والمبتكرين”.
